Why is all the talk about making Canada the 51st state? It seems more sensible to convert the provinces into states. So it would be ten new states.

1 state >>> less bargaining power in the Congress and government. The Republic is trying to gain power not lose it from this proposal.

What are you suggesting might happen?
[edit]
I'm not dunking on you. I'm interested in knowing what negative things you think may happen if the provinces are turned into states.
FWIW, another thing that's been talked about over the years is individual provinces seceding from Canada to join the US, particularly the western ones.

70 stars will fit on our flag, or 50 stars and 10 maple leaves. I’ll work on a design, but can’t have one state because it would be blue

I really don’t get why there’s so many downvotes happening here right now.
Would it be a bad thing if Canada joined America?
If a majority of Canadians polled actually would like to join America shouldn’t we accept them?
We conservatives really shouldn’t be all scared of expanding our country, no I don’t think DC should be its own state.
But Canada? Sure that’s at least 4 if not more states with both conservative and liberal citizens.

As someone who voted for Trump 3x…why? Why? Why? Why….we have much bigger fish to fry.

i've asked my canadian relatives in vancouver and they said they don't mind at all. things are pretty bad in canada right >>> high tax high inflation literally no jobs for graduates and illegals + junkies all over the places. it was as bad as the liberal states in US, if not worse.

Why even bother with this nonsense. It will never happen, let’s quit wasting time thinking about it.
