They’ve let in 5,000,000+ on H1-B visas alone since 2000 claiming there is a shortage, yet American universities are pumping out more computer and engineering graduates than ever.
Those 5,000,000+ jobs could have been done by American professionals who are saddled with $100,000 dollars in college debt, instead some foreign national is brought in who paid next to nothing for their college education.
The system is broken and working against the interests of the citizens of this country. If you don’t want your 20 something year old kids to be living with you in their 30s, I suggest calling your senators and congressmen and tell them there will be hell to pay if they choose to advocate for the interests of tech oligarchs.

Yeah, but all of these are legal entries vetted, pay taxes get nothing back from the government in return. Let’s focus on the 2 million per year illegals

And the American citizens wouldn’t be paying taxes? That’s the most ridiculous excuse I’ve heard.

2 million illegals a year didn’t catch you eyes? Being vetted and enter legally is not good in your book? The point is that they are contributing to the system just like other Americans difference is they don’t get anything back unless they get naturalized 15 years later which is the most aggressive timeline

I didn’t down vote you but this is a classic example of the either/or fallacy.
We can be concerned about both issues — illegals pouring over the border like zombie hordes AND how educated people coming over legally impacts our recent college graduates applying for jobs and American workers in the tech industry.
Apple, Google, Microsoft, and others (just to name a few) have had their feet held to the fire for abusing the H1B visa program and undermining American workers. I think Apple was recently forced to do a major payout for some shady shenanigans. So it’s not the neat and tidy and totally above board arrangement you suggest it is.

There is usually about a thousand applicants for every meaningful tech job currently

This looney wants to hire a battalion of wage slaves from India to pay then peanuts because the American workers will not allow themselves to be abused like that, doesn't he?

Fuck that. Both pricks (Musk and Vivek) need to be removed ASAP.

It's already been demonstrably dangerous to Canada and the UK. There can be no controlling immigration from India.
India needs to be forced to attend to its institutional problems and overpopulation crisis. If we keep on making accomodations for them (i.e opening up immigration privileges for INDIA SPECIFICALLY) then they will simply continue to overpopulate, and then we'll just end up with more indians trying to move to our countries.

The man is an imbecile. His biggest problem is that he completely changes tune based on whoever he's talked to recently. When he was dating grimes he was all ''I love polygamy and doing drugs!!'' very vapid liberalism. Now he rubs shoulders with Vivek Ramaswamy and similar. I presume meeting people like Jeff Bezos also don't help. (Trump + Musk met with Bezos recently, no?)
Similarly he is incredibly susceptible to, well to misinformation on twitter. Just see the accounts he reposts on twitter.

There is no "dire shortage", there is just a shortage of talented tech workers willing to work 80 hour weeks, in the office, for pay so low they can't afford rent or commuting costs.
