This debate is dumb I say both and most people do to, or at least chose one, if you care about this you have nothing going on.

Yeah it's weird, I always viewed it as holiday season since it's Christmas and new years. Yuletide is a dead word so what else are we supposed to say.

Yup and there are several in and around 25 all the way out to the 12 of several religions. Point is say wa hat you want to who who you want. Also what people say to you mistakenly or not should not affect your views. Live and let live, this isn’t the hill to die on.

Happy holidays includes Christmas. Wouldn’t you be annoyed if everyone came up and told you happy Hanukkah. It’s stupid that this has gotten political

I honestly wouldn't be annoyed

Me either. The only ones annoyed would be those that don’t read the Old Testament. The history is beautiful.

What's wrong with saying both?

Because one acknowledges the reason for the season. The other tries to be politically correct. A third option would be to mention Hanukah. But in no world should Kwanza be even mentioned as a way of a faith-based celebration. There are plenty of other outlets to celebrate different Black History and Culture.

Festivus for the rest of us!

"faith-based"? What goalposts have you erected? Do you refuse to say happy new year because it isn't faith-based? I'd ask you why you're wasting bandwidth on the internet but it's reddit so you're entitled to be dumb.

Wtf? All I asked was what's wrong with saying both, and you somehow made it about other religions and black history? I think you're either legitimately insane or karma farming

This the most stupidest argument I have ever seen.

Why divide, when together we're stronger?

It’s not even a real argument. Republicans were just told it was an argument.

Now if only we could deport the democrats along with all the illegal Venezuelans, then we could really get the ball rolling.

America has been celebrating Christmas since the colonial times. Christmas was observed by European settlers in the 1600s, particularly in colonies with strong Anglican or Catholic roots like Virginia and Maryland. It’s been an American tradition and celebration, whether if it’s religious or cultural tradition, it’s significance shaped this country every year. Even secular people say Merry Christmas!

I’d like to point out that the “happy holiday” everyone is referring to is Christmas, and that people are avoiding saying “Christmas” out of fear.
