Guidelines for successive trips

Hi!

I have done a couple of 2g lemon tek golden teacher trips lately. Relatively mild (I'm on the heavier side) but a lot of fun. I've followed the common guidelines surrounding waiting at least 1-2 weeks between trips and other best practices surrounding diet, set and setting.

Both of my recent trips though I've come out the other side wanting to go straight back in, or to have had a more intense experience. The latter desire is easy to satisfy without bending the rules, but I am curious about successive trips all the same.

I'm also aware of various practices surrounding other substances, in particular DMT/ayahuasca ceremonies which involve successive doses over several days. I understand that this is a different substance, but I can't help but be curious about trying such a ritualistic dosing cycle with shrooms or other psychedelics.

Just, given how much successive dosing days runs in the face of common wisdom, I'm curious if anyone has any experience of doing this safely and can advise on the best practices in this case.

Thanks ☆~☆

I think you're feeling left wanting because you're ready to go deeper. You'd probably have better results waiting the 2-3 weeks and then upping your dose. Golden Teachers are usually on the milder, more mellow side, so you probably just need a bit more.

The issue with consecutive trips is that you lose a lot of the "magic" when doing it that way. What that means is that your trips get duller, which in your case will probably just add to that wanting more itch.

DMT (and by extension ayahuasca) is an exemption and it doesn’t cause tolerance, hence it can be used continuously over multiple days. unfortunately psilocybin and majority of other psychedelics don’t share this property and not only cause tolerance, but cross tolerance, so talking LSD will impact shrooms tolerance and vice versa.

you will require 3x the previous day dose, which will quickly become uneconomical + tolerance doesn’t impact negative effects such as BP/HR/Vasoconstriction, body temperature disregulation and body load as much as it does psychedelic effects so you just feel less positive aspects and struggle more with adverse effects that aren’t so noticeable on lower doses. there is also noticeable less magic the following day.

it is definitely not even comparable to sequencing ayahuasca ceremonies, since ayahuasca actually somehow feels stronger next day and you can regulate your state and go higher by just small increments during the trip itself.

all-in-all it is not worth it.

Hello, friend!

Your question seems to be about frequency, but your problem seems to be about dosage. Specifically, 2 weeks is a reasonable biochemical delay, but 2g is not a reasonable therapeutic dosage.

TL;DR: Increase dosage to 5+ grams. Maintain biweekly dosing schedule. You'll be fine.

Good luck! 🌈

I prefer to space my trips apart by a month or so.

Successive trips over a short time period are going to need increasingly higher doses of shrooms for a reducing effect.

I did a hero's dose and then another the day after. This was a bad idea.

The day after barely had any effect and I felt pretty bummed.

Unless you are doing a micro dose daily, I would not suggest successive doses.
