Have psychedelics helps with your ocd?

As I am able to see things abit more from an a birds eye view I notice that I dedicate an awful lot of time playing and trying to dissect stories or early life issues over, and over and over again. It’s a part time, sometimes a full time job. I realize that part of the task is to refine the story so it becomes more accurate but I also think it’s a bit of a clinical issue that this is so hyper focused on.

Has anything helped to decrease the volume inner story? Life is always going to be there and maybe it’s taken this long to be willing to actually pay attention as opposed to complaining and being addicted. I realize this pattern is totally unsustainable long term.

The psilocybin episode of the documentary, How To Change Your Mind, follows a man with OCD who had success with mushrooms in a clinical trial. Might be worth a watch.

I don't have OCD, but I do struggle with rumination, thought loops, anxiety, and black and white thinking, and psychedelics do help me with those. But you need to be ready to face whatever comes up during the trip, and to surrender control, otherwise it can make things worse.

I mean psychedelics almost always help with my depression for like three days. I can take them and then for a few days afterwards I’m happy again. I am extremely OCD but no it doesn’t help with that for me sadly. I wish that they did

Knocks anxiety attacks down immediately for me and last quite a while. Unfortunately no effect on my ocd. Have heard reports of ketamine working for ocd though but have never tried it.

I love just taking a few tokes of weed to slow things down. Really helps my thought racing
