Park city next week? Cancel? Visiting PC
Hi all,
I have a trip to Park City Skiing next week that I planned for 8 months ago. Should we cancel? We have epic pass and don’t know if it’d be possible to get a refund. We can change our flights and hotel (with a fee). Trying to decide what is best? What do y’all think?

If your whole party skis and you can afford it, deer valley is right next to Park City and is not under a workers strike. It's not on epic pass so you'd have to buy new lift tickets, but you wouldn't have to alter your accommodations or break the picket line.

Change for whistler in march. Transfer flight credits and hotel. You can use the epic pass at whistler

Much of the crowd photo you’re seeing are because of the holiday. Go and enjoy your trip you worked hard for. Might not be the absolute best conditions or most terrain open, but go have fun. If you can cancel and not loose money, go to Colorado and ski an epic resort there. They will never refund your pass.

As someone who has skied mainly holidays for nearly 40 years, I've never seen anything like PC last week. It's not just lift lines, the runs are unbelievably crowded. Personally, I'd cancel whether it's a week out or a year out. I'll never go there again.

Might look at other local options too, like a day at DV (if you're all skiers), Snowbasin or in the Cottonwood Canyons as all of those resorts are operating at true normal vs PCMR. Conditions are truly typical for this time of year at other mountains, but PCMR is limited, due to the strike, to not having anything above the Summit on the PC side and Saddleback on the CV side, no 9990/Dreams/Jupiter/McConkey's and I would assume that even if/when the strike is settled that it will take some time to get those areas controlled and ready to safely open. I've also noticed that grooming at PC seems to be very limited currently with a lot of short cat tracks being included in their grooming totals. If you're looking for ungroomed bumps, then you'll be fine at PC, anything else, perhaps spend a day and look elsewhere.

I'm here right now.. lines weren't bad yesterday. Lots of brush showing and the hills are pretty skied up... moguls galore on the intermediates. You can definitely still have fun.. depends what else you'll do with the money and how hard pressed you are for it. Just come in expecting less than ideal.

Check back later today, Monday. Negotiations are supposed to start back up. As of now, holiday crowds are leaving today so that’s some relief as is snow for the last few days. Still not enough personnel. Me? I’d cancel and relocate to a sure thing.
