Interview for Nuclear Safety Engineer
Guys, I have an interview scheduled for a Nuclear Safety Engineer position. I am a graduate in Chemical Engineering. The job description mentions performing deterministic and probabilistic safety analysis. I understand what those are, but I am looking for additional information or insights about them. Kindly enlighten me!

I spent quite a few years as a PRA person. You're an engineer and it's your first job, I wouldn't worry about actually knowing anything. Go in with a positive attitude, understanding of a few basic examples of what it is (check the NRC website for good basic examples) and they will expect to need to teach you.
Idaho national Lab has a free pra software I think you can email them and request and poke around with, but industry uses a different software, so I wouldn't go to crazy.

That isn't my position and I don't have experience with PRA, but I would point you to searching those terms on NRC.gov, and 10 CFR 50. NEI and EPRI may also have public guidance on how to perform PRAs.
