General Question When did brewery taprooms become day cares?
I spent my entire life in Massachusetts before I moved away in 2016, well after the craft beer boom occurred. I went to taprooms quite often before I left, and also frequently when I come back to visit my folks.
I've lived in the UK since, so it's not unusual to see kids in pubs, especially on the weekends
The difference I've seen back home lately is that kids now run wild in these places and there seems to be a general understanding that you can take your young kids to breweries and let them loose while you have a few drinks.
Is this not a weird phenomenon to anyone? I don't begrudge parents to have a drink but it seems like they treat the grounds at a taproom like it's a playground or something?

News More than all of Boston 48.4 sq miles has burned in the LA fires
This post is to help us all understand the size of damage in California so far
Channel 5 WCVB reported this morning over 35,000 acres have burned in the Los Angeles fires.
For reference, Boston is 48.4 square miles = 30,976 acres
More than the city of Boston has been destroyed
Just think about the winds we experienced over the past week. Add some 10 or 20 mph plus some major wind gusts.
Add these winds to the drought we experienced over the last summer.
We were fortunate our summer wild fires were not worse.
Some of my relatives have lost everything.
Climate change will quickly touch all of us

Weather First real snow!
Just saying I'm excited as this is my first winter here - so far the "snow" has been kinda bullshit and washed away by rain immediately. Took the dog out this morning and was reminded of home. Bonus points for not being that cold.

That’s the news. It’s warm at 29°
UPDATE: it’s now 30°

General Question Question about Massachusetts Pizza culture
Does Massachusetts have the most variety of pizza in the United States?
You have different species of pizza all over MA.
In Boston you have the varieties inspired by Pizzeria Regina. So Regina, Santarpios and Papa Ginos are representatives of this species.
South Boston Bar pizza from Cape Cod Cafe, Town Spa, and Lynwood are examples of this species.
Beach Pizza from Tripoli and Christys.
Merrimack Valley style (Is this even it's own style?) From places like Joanies and Treehouse Brewing in Tewksbury. yes, I think these places have departed enough from the New York style to be their own style.
Greek Pizza from the various House of Pizza locations across MA
Neapolitan style from Si Cara and Picco in Boston
Bakery Pizza from Bovas and Galleria Umberto
Then of course you have the commecial pizza places like Domino's and Papa Johns
Grandma style from Bovas and others
Detroit Style from Detroit Pizza Co. and Avenue in Somerville
Western MA pizza from Red Rose and Denardos.
New York style from Joe's and Oggi.
What are some that I am missing? Which example of each one does the best job (best product, most reliable consistency)??

Weather Tips for driving in the snow?
I was born and raised in Massachusetts/Maine. However, I moved to California with my dad when I was 14 years old. I learned how to drive and got my license in California. I just came back to visit for a funeral. I'm currently sitting in my hotel room, dreading going out to do anything because, well, I've never driven in snow. Does anyone have any tips or tricks?

Politics Let's buy a billboard to tell Kelly Ayotte to lay the F off!
Kelly Ayotte (NH's new Governor) ran an entire political campaign by insulting Massachusetts. She won't let up! Let's buy a billboard on Route 3 or 93 to tell her to lay the F off our great state. Anyone interested in forming a group to do this through a go fund me page? Let's flip her the bird!

General Question Antler sheds?
Weird request, but does anyone know where/how to look for deer antler sheds in Massachusetts? I’m not a hunter, not much wilderness experience. I’m just looking to find a deer antler for a project and I’d rather the attachment to something I found versus just buying from a store.
I’m in the north shore for reference. Not looking to get super lost in the woods. Maybe just general tips or areas? I heard it’s around this time of year when you can potentially start finding them
Thanks lol

Seek Opinion Any place in Massachusetts that is like the Yellow Deli, without the cult part?
So last week a cousin of mine and I got some lunch at the Yellow Deli. And I thought it was a really awesome experience (at first)! The food was pretty good, so were the drinks, and the restaurant itself had a really cool vibe inside of it. It seemed like a genuinely awesome place, plus open 24 hours a day. Seemed like I had found a new spot! That is until I found out that the place is run by a disgusting cult and now I have no desire to step foot in there again. I'm sure many ppl have had a similar story.
So I'm curious now, is there a spot like the yellow deli that isn't run by cult freaks? I don't just mean in terms of food. I mean in terms of restaurant design, maybe a place that's open late, and in a nice enough setting.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated ty!

General Question Xfinity nesn increase
Hi all. I’ll admit I’m not tech savvy. We just got a letter saying our Xfinity will no longer be offering nesn and nbc sports Boston unless we pay a premium. How do you go about getting nesn. Wife mentioned Roku and coworkers mentioned other platforms but I’m not sure what they are. Is there a way to stream maybe elsewhere i guess is what I’m asking or do you need to upgrade with Xfinity. Really keeping it for the bruins Thank you.
