ONE of the biggest pieces of shit, like each of the All-In guys. Nobody’s gonna knock Musk off the top pedestal.

u/arduous_raven 15h ago
You could throw in all the Silicon Valley VC capitalists, with Marc Andreessen being the prime example of a cunt. Jesus, he was recording a video for a16z where he said how oppressed the entrepreneurs were over the last 4 years, and now with trump it’s all gonna change. Gos I hate those tech bros with a passion, even though I’m in the industry and love technology

Will 2025 be the year that poor MAGAs finally realizes that Billionaires don’t give AF about them ? Or will they continue to cuck for rich men ?
253
u/imdaviddunn 1d ago
No. Aspiration is drug. There is literally something called prosperity Christianity breaking out of evangelical quarters. Basically, God wants everyone to be rich, and since they are, his loves them so I should give them my money so god will love me too. And anyone trying to help me while I am poor is trying to keep me poor.
I know that sounds absolutely bonkers and anti—thetical to the Bible, but here we are.
105
u/tell-talenevermore 1d ago
Oh yes I know about prosperity Christian preachers like Copeland and Osteen. God wants you to be rich and have nice material possessions. If you donate lots of monies to church then God will help you become richer and have nice luxury possessions.
They are real pieces of work.

u/calmdownmyguy 1d ago

That's called the prosperity gospel, if anyone wants to search for it. It's been around for decades. Jim and Tammy Faye Baker were preachers of it in the 1980s. It escaped containment a long time ago.

Breaking out? Dawg, prosperity gospel has been a thing since forever. Huge push with televangelism, but it’s grown into its current form steadily from the evangelical movement in the 60s.

That whole thing reminds me of the petrochurch of Atwood's Madaddam series.

I like Atwood - I'll check it out.

u/piratequeenfaile 22h ago
The first book is sort of a standalone after the collapse and the second and third books tell the story of the world. I would still read them all in order but note that the first book is totally different in tone from the later ones, and doesn't provide clear answers. Second books follow more traditional world building and narrative structures, and get into the world building pre-collapse which is where all the neat "oh damn, she's telling our future" stuff comes up.
46
u/Actual__Wizard 1d ago
They've never figured it out a single time before. They are powerless to change. They know everything is screwed up and up side down, but they can't figure out why, as the people they vote for lie to their faces over and over again.
Oh well. War is coming. So much for the United States.
21
u/saltyourhash 1d ago
I gave up on them figuring this out when they cheered on Trump giving them a temporary tax cut while giving the rich a permanent one
25
u/LivingIndependence 1d ago
They have been simping and sucking the dick of the rich for the past 45 years since Reagan. Nothing will change at all. We just have a right wing-controlled news media that has been pushing the narrative that "you're still poor because of the brown people taking your jobs, and the democrats that are shipping them all into the country!" I can't see how this will change anything
14
u/tell-talenevermore 1d ago
Yup. Rich Republican CEOs were the ones that started shipping all the high pay low skilled jobs over seas for max profits. But it will always be brown immigrants fault why poor low skilled whites in middle America can’t get a good paying job.

They had an 8-year open book and still failed. Outside of the blatantly racist, sexist, misogynistic ones. Many are just that ignorant or stupid.
So in my opinion no they won't.

They're always going to vote red. That much is true.

Funniest shit of 2024 is MAGAs literally begging Elon Musk for a job on Twitter and Elon saying Americans are too dumb and lazy for work and he needs to bring in mass numbers of Indians 🇮🇳 to do American jobs
🤣🤣🤣🤣
96
u/For_Aeons 1d ago
Not just dumb and lazy, but he literally said he can bring in cheaper labor.
85
u/tell-talenevermore 1d ago
Yup! He said immigrant workers work better than Americans and are actually grateful and will work for a fraction of the cost
🤣 The America First and MAGA crowd are discombobulating all over Twitter.
28
u/For_Aeons 1d ago
First post in rConservative is about this issue as well.

33
u/For_Aeons 1d ago
Elon is acting brain dead. So is Vivek. And once again, they're proving they don't know anything about working, middle class.
The big "fear" about immigrants in how it relates to unions and working class voters was how immigrants drive down wages.
Elon called Americans dumb, lazy, Vivek called it a problem with American culture, and the Elon said he can get H1-B workers to do the job for a fraction or the cost.
In other works he wants to increase cheap immigrant labor to drive down wages.
Lol.

I remember around 2015 a lot of MAGAs online were saying it’s time to get paid and Trump was going to bring back high paying jobs for them. Never happened.
Now they on Twitter begging President Musk to give them a job. Elon straight up said nah y’all too stupid for a job. I need me some dark skinned immigrants 😂
1
u/notguiltybrewing 19h ago
Immigrants are welcome for formally high paying jobs as long as they can send them back at the drop of a hat. Immigrants aren't welcome for low paying jobs, those are for regular 'muricans.
3
u/FOOK_Liquidice 1d ago
Technically Elon does care about other stuff like dragging the rest of the developed world down with us and fathering children off his subordinate employees and then abandoning them.
112
u/enchylatta 1d ago
DOGE was/is about Elon thinking that Trump will really give him the $$ to go to Mars within 4 years if he cuts enough from the Federal budget. It is also to give him authority to cut all regulations that prevent him from doing what he wants, the authority to punish those people he feels have wronged him; including but not limited to his first wife who allowed his daughter to get gender affirming surgery (just like Trump - it's his own revenge tour), to convince Trump to make crypto the new gold standard and, as he has pointed out several times, to make $$ on 'DOGE merch'. The guy is a drug-fueled meglomaniac. I think he's a few years short of going full blown Howard Hughes crazy.
3
u/cipheron 18h ago
Trump will really give him the $$ to go to Mars within 4 years if he cuts enough from the Federal budget.
More realistically he gets the contract to build a replacement for the ISS (current pegged at a 2030 end date) and they decommission / burn up the ISS. Maybe Musk will push to turn the next version into a space hotel for rich people.
Which would be funny because if you wanted to save money you'd probably suggest working out how to extend the life of the ISS instead of making a new one.
1
u/weird_the_stripper69 15h ago
I think trump should send leon to mars. That should be our only goal. Make sure there's only enough fuel to get him there and not come back.

I feel like US conservatives have gone through a great catharsis. They have been pumped up for decades, and increasing to a crescendo over recent years. All the time with a laser focus on the enemy. And then suddenly: they have won everything they so desperately wanted. They did it. They are saved from evil!
And this was the thing that was going to save them, the rhetoric has been crystal clear. Trump and Co now have everything they said they needed. For the voters with their need to defeat the hated enemy sated, what now? A lot of promises were made - in quite vague terms - about how Trump was going to fix everything. So expect the war on reality to change tack. Even if the economy and cost of living etc get worse, they will need to go from pumping a perception of all that as bad to it being great - or at least greater than it would be under the evil other guys.
It's going to be increasingly difficult for Republicans to distract from any failure to enact immediate utopia by pointing at Hunter Biden or whatever. The best tactic for Democrats here is actually to lay low. The conservatives are already starting to find enemies within. There are some fragile alliances here, and a lot of these tokens have already been spent. Plus the actual and wannabe powers in the administration are jockeying for position. They only know one game really, and they will start playing it against one another.
BUT. There are two new mystery ingredient recently thrown into the mix. First is what I am calling the Luigi Sauce. The undercurrent in a lot of this post-catharsis debate seems to be a dawning realisation that there is already a class war going on. Second is the people who are driven by bigotry now realising that corporate interests rank higher than their bigotry. And maybe they might even realise that this bigotry has been stoked to con them, though that's a big stretch for many.
There are shifts in the way people are thinking. 2025 is going to for sure be pretty interesting times.
11
u/deanode99 1d ago
It’s going to be interesting when the racist wing and the corporate wing realize that they are on opposite sides of immigration. As with the GOP the corporate interests will always win out but it will for sure piss a lot of the MAGA American first base.
5
u/Throwawayac1234567 23h ago

13
u/Actual__Wizard 1d ago
Yeah they lied...
4
u/SirTiffAlot 16h ago
Not defending this nonsense but they didn't really lie. They're going to cut spending and fire people. The plan was always to replace them with cheaper labor overseas so they could then point to the government contracts they get as 'saving' money.
'Hey NASA used to cost 11 bazillion dollars, now SpaceX does the job for 9 bazillion dollars. We saved so much'
1
u/Actual__Wizard 13h ago edited 13h ago
but they didn't really lie
For sure they did. We are being lied to by a gang of criminals and thugs. They said they were going to make America great and they're racing to hire as many foreigners as possible... They left behind all of the people that they said they were going to help immediately. He's not even in office yet and any hope of the economy getting better for the working class is totally gone.
2
u/SirTiffAlot 9h ago
You'll have to find me a quote on that. Just sayin MAGA isn't much.
I do remember Elon literally telling the entire country they were going to be hurting in the short term because of what they wanted to do. He specifically told people things were going to get bad for everyone.
1
u/Actual__Wizard 9h ago
You'll have to find me a quote on that.
Quote of what? I'll dig it up, but of what though?
I do remember Elon literally telling the entire country they were going to be hurting in the short term because of what they wanted to do. He specifically told people things were going to get bad for everyone.
That's exactly what I was talking about. There was a discussion between Musk and some of the bots on Twitter that revealed that he's aware that their policies are bad for America and that they're lying about them.
1
u/SirTiffAlot 8h ago
A quote of him saying how he'll make America great other than just MAGA. I don't recall him saying they want to staff tech companies with Americans.
I'm saying he didn't lie about it, this is just the natural progression of the policies they said they'd carry out. Other than promoting the great replacement I don't think Elon has ever come out as anti legal immigration
1
u/Actual__Wizard 8h ago edited 8h ago
A quote of him saying how he'll make America great other than just MAGA.
I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to say, but every single thing he said about DOGE and his fake government organization should apply "to the promise he made."
This is where "we are at with it." Which to be clear, at this time this organization has absolutely zero legal authority to do anything at all and is effectively a distraction and or purely promotional like an advertisement.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Department_of_Government_Efficiency
If you're trying to suggest that I am misquoting them or something, that's not my intention. They make extremely ambiguious statements constantly...
13
u/BrimyTheSithLord 1d ago
I don't know what's more irritating: the fact that DOGE's purpose was such an obvious lie for him to parrot, or the fact that this "revelation" won't change his rhetoric in the slightest.

u/Throwawayac1234567 23h ago
thats what the soybean tariffs were, when farmers went under, he spent 10s of billions trying to undo the damage, by the time biden reversed those tariffs, china already established a permanent source soybean in other SE asian countries, eliminating the reliance of USA, by the time us caught up with pre-tariff production, it was too late, since other SE asia saw that upped thier output of soybeans, to counter the USA ones.

It's easy why DOGE is about getting foreigners with good education and skills in to do the work.
Would it be more efficient to spend 100k or more to educate someone (kid to university) or more efficient to bring someone who already has the degree overseas at no expense to you?
See, DOGE is doing its job! You saved all that money spent on education!

I always perceived DOGE as a way to eliminate paying back the treasury bonds (trust fund accounts) that are coming due thus adding to the debt because the country never developed a way to cover those bonds, now it has to borrow. The Post Office,Teachers Unions, various pension funds etc. parked the surplus money they made in their glorious days into Treasury bonds now they need the money due to their glory days are not glorious anymore and now those who have control of everything (thanks citizens united) no longer want any responsibility tax wise to the very nation or world that made them what they are today. In order to eliminate the tax burden they now have more massive taxes have to be cut and you can’t get the tax cuts if you have to put public money that the country borrowed from. So eliminate those departments Board of Education,Privatization of the Post Office, privatization of all the entities whose trust fund treasury accounts you don’t want to pay back you know what you get TAX CUTS! Who’s in charge of the government now billionaires wanting TAX CUTS.who is ambassador to the world now billionaires wanting more. Who’s in control of a major legislation called the infrastructure bill billionaires. Understand?
