For context- in India the upper castes use "meritocracy" to demean the other castes and portray them as undesirable and undeserving of affirmative action in the form of reservations. Even though the upper castes are 10-15% of the population they have the majority share of wealth and almost completely occupy the upper echelons of bureaucracy, political and corporate sectors.
Most people who move abroad are upper castes(because only they can afford to move out of the country). And read about how indian Americans are resisting laws against caste discrimination.
These people are the fascist supporters in their home countries.
