I'm starting to worry that there is a deluge of FAFO articles that are designed to sap the rest of the populace of their empathy so that nobody fights back.  I don't even know what to do about it, because it works on me too.  I can't bring myself to try to save people who hurt themselves and everyone else.

Agree. He is not in office yet and some of these stories claiming folks are "waking up" seem awful premature. They didn't read and trust in counter information before the election, I doubt they are now reading and believing that they made a mistake just because of non-qualified appointments to his administration that may or may not get confirmed.

It’s important to keep your empathy for humans regardless of what they do. If legal citizens get denaturalized due to their parent’s status that is still insanely fucked up even if they voted for trump

Sort of like how Americans love punitive justice and think prisons should be horrible places. It’s already horrible because you can’t leave and have little autonomy, doesn’t need to be literal torture.

I really find it disturbing that so many people are willing to cast aside their beliefs if someone makes bad choices. I’m not happy with them but I still don’t think their rights should be infringed.

you can have empathy and compassion but also recognize its fruitless to have empathy and compassion for those who are not empathetic nor compassionate because you realize that you'd be enabling them to continue their abuses.

Right, I'm saying that I am wondering if all of these articles are designed to make us generalize our lack of empathy and compassion to all victims of the coming administration.

given the sheer record number of cognitive/information warfare by foreign countries, i wouldn't be surprised. its sad.

gotta make sure the house/senate is voted blue/progressively in 2 years.
