I thought maybe they had the issue with their screws coming loose
1
u/CoatNecessary 11h ago
i have that issue...after about 5-10 actuations of opening the ARC, the pivot screw on the pocket clip side works itself all the way out....is there a fix for this?

It was supposed to be a temporary lanyard. The other one frayed and was a goner.

you should try it sometime and maybe you wonât feel the need to go out of your way just to be an asshole

Just a tosser, these wankers come through in every generation

u/pnwbangsticks 10h ago
The term boomer has transcended the generation and become representative of their curmudgeonly mindset, regardless of generation or age.

Guess I missed that consensus
2
u/pnwbangsticks 10h ago
Perhaps it's not so much of a consensus then, eh?

u/Yethnahmaybe 8h ago
One person disagreeing or more so not yet agreeing shouldn't stop you. You Canadian?
1
u/pnwbangsticks 7h ago
Nope, definitely won't stop me either. Just suggesting that perhaps it's not such a universal thing. Just because my friends or people in my area use it that way doesn't mean everyone does.
1
u/Yethnahmaybe 7h ago
That's the way. Perhaps not. Very true, though what does everyone do apart from the basics? Many don't even use It around me as the large majority respect their elders even if they don't come close to warranting it

Woah. Am I crazy or were leathermans not like 25$ 20 years ago. What's with the price?

I've been a Harbour freight, cheap tool guy my whole life. I recently purchased and ARC.... Holy shit dude. Well worth the money. I wasn't sure I was going to be happy with it or use it enough to justify. But after just a month, it's made it's money back for sure. If you are in the trades or have a daily need for it, its the best investment.

I got a Micra for $20 or $25 about twenty years ago. The little Micra is $50 now.

Multi tools have become an accessory more than a tool. Thereâs a whole scene of people posting their âEDCâ and âpocket dumbâ and paying $100 for a bead that hangs on a keychain.
Thereâs no reason to spend $200 on a pocket knife. I had a Wingman for about 7 years, paid $34 for it. It did everything I needed. I lost it recently and got the same Arc as in the picture for a Christmas present and I donât want it, I donât like it, and I wonât use it.

What a waste
-1
u/solitudechirs 15h ago
$230 is definitely a waste for a pocket knife that would never do anything for me that the $34 one couldnât, except post pictures of it on the internet.

u/Comfortable-Row9291 14h ago
Not a waste of money. It was a waste on you.
2
u/solitudechirs 14h ago
Itâs a waste of money for probably 99% of people. If not 100%. Itâs a neat fidget toy, but in practical use, itâs just a shiner version of the Wingman or any other multi tool. If you need something the Arc can do that other tools canât do, thatâs pretty much never going to be in a situation where thereâs not a tool thatâs better suited to the job. The whole point of a pocket-multi tool is to have a jack of all trades, master of none. If you use it regularly for anything, youâre better off using a dedicated tool for that task.
As a side note, I got used to having the Wingman in my front left pocket, and the Arc has the clip on the other side so it doesnât sit right if you clip it in that pocket. For $230 (before tax), youâd think theyâd have some option to switch the clip position. The fact that you canât even move the clip really makes it feel like itâs all show and no go.

It's weird you're so butthurt that someone bought you something nice. Just because you're cheap doesn't mean everyone has to be. Also, the clip can absolutely go on both sides of the arc!đđ¤Ś

Iâm not âbutthurt that someone bought me something niceâ but I guess thatâs a good strawman you can knock down and feel good about. I think itâs stupid that a market even exists for pocket knives with a few more attachments, that cost hundreds of dollars. Itâs an accessory at that point, and anyone who says itâs not is kidding themselves.
Also no, you absolutely canât switch the clip. I donât know why youâd even try to argue that. You can look it up, you can see one, you can read whatever literature is available on them, you can watch videos on it. Itâs a nit-picky thing to say âI want the pocket clip on the other sideâ, but itâs also a luxury pocket accessory, and it costs enough that they could add two tapped holes.

I got used to having the Wingman in my front left pocket, and the Arc has the clip on the other side so it doesnât sit right if you clip it in that pocket.
Critical thinking ability non existent. Thatâs effectively the same side and is going to fit in a pocket the same way. They need holes where the lettering is.
Again, this is nit picky but youâd think theyâd have a solution, especially considering that there are several posts about several of their tools, asking about the possibility of switching where the clip goes.

I couldn't agree more. Nothing wrong with owning expensive gadgets if that's what you're into, but leatherman used to be known for making solid tools that can last a lifetime. I'd be interested to see how the arc is gonna hold up in 20 years, assuming anyone still uses it by then. And no cheating, sending it back for repairs because of a broken pivot resets your 20 years.

I'm not triggered because you said say so. I made a comment and the left. Y'all decided that you had something to stand on. Listen any adult who thinks it's cool to post pictures of themselves getting stoned on social media need to grow up... This response I'm getting is %100 how I expected the man children among us to respond... It all tracks.

Thatâs a lot of text to justify you getting butthurt over the reaction to your stupid comment.
Someone posted a picture of them using their Leatherman pliers in a Leatherman post.
This is 100% how I expected the butthurt neckbeard to act when his dumb joke doesnât land. Keep crying about a photo of pliers and rolling paper lil man, I know it can be very triggering.
