Nah that's the obsidian

I always crutch my joints… haven’t had to get my lips burnt of carry a clip in like a decade. I use any paper thicker than like the front of a paper notebook. Get a little 1/4” wide by 1” long piece and rolly polly it til it’s small enough to fit in the end and boom.. such a better joint. Especially if it’s some sticky dank, won’t seal shut on the end with a crutch.

Yeah I usually do that too.

You could also roll a tip filter, like those little brown raw books of tip filter paper, works well and accomplishes the same thing. If I'm lazy I'll just smoke a bowl/bong.

What’s the zip tie for?

11

u/zilliondollar3d 18h ago

Came to ask the same thing…maybe a poor man’s lanyard ?

7

u/omegablue333 18h ago

I thought maybe they had the issue with their screws coming loose

1

u/CoatNecessary 11h ago

i have that issue...after about 5-10 actuations of opening the ARC, the pivot screw on the pocket clip side works itself all the way out....is there a fix for this?

1

u/BrainznBodiez 7h ago

How about using some locktigjt?

1

u/CoatNecessary 11h ago

mine you, this is my THIRD warranty ARC in less than 2 months

5

u/doubleramencups 17h ago

idk but some people make thumb turners out of them.

2

u/omegablue333 15h ago

Thumb turner? I the thumb nub on blades or like a fidget thing?

4

u/Christopnotch 15h ago

It was supposed to be a temporary lanyard. The other one frayed and was a goner.

Think he just couldn't figure out how to remove it (drug addled brain)

Some weed can make you creative, but most weed will actually make you happy -

you should try it sometime and maybe you won’t feel the need to go out of your way just to be an asshole

Just a tosser, these wankers come through in every generation

2

u/pnwbangsticks 10h ago

The term boomer has transcended the generation and become representative of their curmudgeonly mindset, regardless of generation or age.

2

u/Yethnahmaybe 10h ago

Guess I missed that consensus

2

u/pnwbangsticks 10h ago

Perhaps it's not so much of a consensus then, eh?

1

u/Yethnahmaybe 8h ago

One person disagreeing or more so not yet agreeing shouldn't stop you. You Canadian?

1

u/pnwbangsticks 7h ago

Nope, definitely won't stop me either. Just suggesting that perhaps it's not such a universal thing. Just because my friends or people in my area use it that way doesn't mean everyone does.

1

u/Yethnahmaybe 7h ago

That's the way. Perhaps not. Very true, though what does everyone do apart from the basics? Many don't even use It around me as the large majority respect their elders even if they don't come close to warranting it

6

u/0bamaBinSmokin 18h ago

Woah. Am I crazy or were leathermans not like 25$ 20 years ago. What's with the price?

6

u/tuctrohs 18h ago

They've introduced a new higher-end line.

4

u/Shitinmyshorts 17h ago

I've been a Harbour freight, cheap tool guy my whole life. I recently purchased and ARC.... Holy shit dude. Well worth the money. I wasn't sure I was going to be happy with it or use it enough to justify. But after just a month, it's made it's money back for sure. If you are in the trades or have a daily need for it, its the best investment.

I got a Micra for $20 or $25 about twenty years ago. The little Micra is $50 now.

3

u/otusowl 16h ago

Think I paid $50 for my Wave: late 90's or early 00's. Didn't enjoy belt-carry, but it still rides in my bag.

2

u/Nexmo_co 11h ago

I paid 50$ for a new used wave+ a few weeks ago. Deals can still be found

u/Yethnahmaybe 10h ago

$500 in Australia

Multi tools have become an accessory more than a tool. There’s a whole scene of people posting their “EDC” and “pocket dumb” and paying $100 for a bead that hangs on a keychain.

There’s no reason to spend $200 on a pocket knife. I had a Wingman for about 7 years, paid $34 for it. It did everything I needed. I lost it recently and got the same Arc as in the picture for a Christmas present and I don’t want it, I don’t like it, and I won’t use it.

5

u/Comfortable-Row9291 16h ago

What a waste

-1

u/solitudechirs 15h ago

$230 is definitely a waste for a pocket knife that would never do anything for me that the $34 one couldn’t, except post pictures of it on the internet.

0

u/Comfortable-Row9291 14h ago

Not a waste of money. It was a waste on you.

2

u/solitudechirs 14h ago

It’s a waste of money for probably 99% of people. If not 100%. It’s a neat fidget toy, but in practical use, it’s just a shiner version of the Wingman or any other multi tool. If you need something the Arc can do that other tools can’t do, that’s pretty much never going to be in a situation where there’s not a tool that’s better suited to the job. The whole point of a pocket-multi tool is to have a jack of all trades, master of none. If you use it regularly for anything, you’re better off using a dedicated tool for that task.

As a side note, I got used to having the Wingman in my front left pocket, and the Arc has the clip on the other side so it doesn’t sit right if you clip it in that pocket. For $230 (before tax), you’d think they’d have some option to switch the clip position. The fact that you can’t even move the clip really makes it feel like it’s all show and no go.

0

u/Comfortable-Row9291 14h ago

It's weird you're so butthurt that someone bought you something nice. Just because you're cheap doesn't mean everyone has to be. Also, the clip can absolutely go on both sides of the arc!😂🤦

0

u/solitudechirs 13h ago

I’m not “butthurt that someone bought me something nice” but I guess that’s a good strawman you can knock down and feel good about. I think it’s stupid that a market even exists for pocket knives with a few more attachments, that cost hundreds of dollars. It’s an accessory at that point, and anyone who says it’s not is kidding themselves.

Also no, you absolutely can’t switch the clip. I don’t know why you’d even try to argue that. You can look it up, you can see one, you can read whatever literature is available on them, you can watch videos on it. It’s a nit-picky thing to say “I want the pocket clip on the other side”, but it’s also a luxury pocket accessory, and it costs enough that they could add two tapped holes.

I got used to having the Wingman in my front left pocket, and the Arc has the clip on the other side so it doesn’t sit right if you clip it in that pocket.

Critical thinking ability non existent. That’s effectively the same side and is going to fit in a pocket the same way. They need holes where the lettering is.

Again, this is nit picky but you’d think they’d have a solution, especially considering that there are several posts about several of their tools, asking about the possibility of switching where the clip goes.

I have a wingman if you wanna trade for that Arc ;)

2

u/grrttlc2 16h ago

Use it dummy

1

u/DS2_ElectricBoogaloo 7h ago

I couldn't agree more. Nothing wrong with owning expensive gadgets if that's what you're into, but leatherman used to be known for making solid tools that can last a lifetime. I'd be interested to see how the arc is gonna hold up in 20 years, assuming anyone still uses it by then. And no cheating, sending it back for repairs because of a broken pivot resets your 20 years.

1

u/jpinoniemi 15h ago

You been living under a rock the last few years?

1

u/anonymouswealth 13h ago

The latest and greatest blade metal was used for the knife (CPM MagnaCut).

2

u/WhyDidntITextBack 18h ago

Useful even on your breaks!

2

u/Lanky_Trifle6308 18h ago

My Sideclip was an indispensable tool in these situations.

2

u/mjpuczko 18h ago

Def have done this with my Wave and a small roach.

These posts are immature trash.

Ohhh one of those cool kids that go right to others post and comment history. Dude everyone hates you.

5

u/Comfortable-Row9291 14h ago

Zero self awareness here

3

u/ConWilCal 14h ago

Lmao you’re so quick to talk shit and even quicker to get triggered 😢

0

u/Fickle_Assumption_80 14h ago

I'm not triggered because you said say so. I made a comment and the left. Y'all decided that you had something to stand on. Listen any adult who thinks it's cool to post pictures of themselves getting stoned on social media need to grow up... This response I'm getting is %100 how I expected the man children among us to respond... It all tracks.

3

u/ConWilCal 14h ago

That’s a lot of text to justify you getting butthurt over the reaction to your stupid comment.

Someone posted a picture of them using their Leatherman pliers in a Leatherman post.

This is 100% how I expected the butthurt neckbeard to act when his dumb joke doesn’t land. Keep crying about a photo of pliers and rolling paper lil man, I know it can be very triggering.

You lost. There’s dignity in admitting defeat.

No, you’re just lame

All the kids are pissed 🤣

And the old fart is just bitter😉

1

You’re clearly a boomer just being pissy.

1

The leatherman community has spoken, you’re being annoying

1

Wow you're still talking? Dude move on.
