Are there any public social groups in Layton I can join?
Was using meetup for some time but slowly became disappointed over time at some groups not even bothering to show up to their events and the lack of groups specific to Layton. Is there a social scene in this area, or am i correct in that everything is going to take place in Ogden and Salt Lake?

Train horns?
I work from home and I've noticed a significant increase of trains using their horns (sorta near the Antelope/Gordon Ave area). Anyone know what's going on?

Found bunny in Layton
galleryHello!
I found a bunny in our backyard that seems well fed and I assume domesticated because of its coloring. I called Animal Control and they were zero help. I am struggling to catch and just hope someone either recognizes this bunny or can tell if there is a chance if it is wild. If it's wild, I'll open my gate up and the little guy do his thing. Just worried he was someone's pet and would get killed.

Irrigation water
For those with secondary water. Is yours on? SW Layton isn’t flowing yet. The billing statement said pipes would be charged on April first. How long does it take for all lines to be charged?

Landscape Incentives
Does anyone know of any xeriscape, localscape, or other water savings incentives that apply to Layton? It seems like most of the state wide programs don't apply.

Running path
Next weekend I'm going to be visiting my buddy in Layton. I'm going to try to get a 6 mile jog in. Are there any trails or parks? I'd rather avoid streets if possible. Thanks!

Bakeries in Layton City?
Looking for a good sourdough, french bread, rye bread or basic sandwich bread. Where do you recommend aside from the grocery stores?

Apologies for the locked sub
Just a general announcement from the mods, apologies on the sub being locked to only approved users. We're not sure when, or how this happened, but there is no record of any of us doing this. It may have been a mistake on Reddit's part during one of their updates. Regardless, the sub is now back open again, and welcoming posts.

Any decent BBQ places around?
Famous Dave’s shut down and I could never find any BBQ places around here. Was gonna try one place (forgot the name), but that seems to have closed as well. Is there any place around. I know R&R in Farmington, but they suck.

Jesse Kelly will be in the Layton barns and noble
Hello fellow folks of Layton, Jesse Kelly is signing his book at the local barns and noble tommorrow June 12th, this man is controversial to say the least, he's a trump supporter, he makes fun of feminists, and is against the LGBTQ+ community. I figured I'd put the word out there that if you're planning on getting a book tomorrow, you may want to reconsider.

Custom railings
I am a contractor looking for new leads. I do all kinds of metal work but custom railings have been my bread and butter. Let me know if you have any ideas, questions, or plans that you want to pursue on your steel project. Or any other project, (truck builds, art projects, repairs, furniture.)

Can ya’ll please watch your dogs?
6th dog in like 3 months I’ve seen walking around around Antelope Dr between Fort and Hill Field. 3 of them were hit by cars and dead. This is getting ridiculous at this point and it’s really upsetting.

Jack in the Box location?
Has anyone heard any updated info on just where exactly the Jack in the Box is supposed to be going in? I thought I'd heard it was going to be one of the new buildings being built in the parking lot at the corner of Antelope & Main, but looks like that's an El Pollo Loco & an oil change place. Google Maps seems to think it's (oddly) inside a building over at Davis Hospital. Saw someone online say they think it'll actually be in Syracuse, not Layton.
Seems like either this is a lot more tentative or way further off than previously suggested.

Running clubs
My wife’s friends have moved out of state and it’s affecting her very heavily. We’ve talked about things she could do to meet new people naturally and we landed on running clubs or groups. Something like that but aren’t sure where to start, any suggestions? We are also getting her a membership to EōS soon. She just wants to be out of the house more, Covid has her working from home still and she is getting stir crazy on top of it all.

Trader Joe's in Kaysville
The city of Kaysville is trying to get a Trader Joe's. As a neighbor to Kaysville I think this would be great. If you do to, you can follow this link to a site about the effort. There is a link on the page that says "fill in Kaysville for the city here" it's a form direct to Trader Joe's to request a store. If enough people request it the city thinks they have a chance.
