Camera: Nikon Z6ii

Night sky: 20mm, ISO 3200, f/1.8, 20 second exposure with the Nikkor Z 20mm f/1.8S

Mountains: 24mm, ISO 800, f/4, 60 second exposure with the Nikkor Z 24-70 f/4S

The night sky is one shot with only minor exposure tweaks applied. The landscape is a different shot.

Beautiful shot!! Where in the Sierra was this? I was shooting Perseids from the Alabama hills during the peak. Wish I was on top of a mountain though!! Also, hate to say it, but that appears to be a satellite.

This was just up the mountain from the Alabama Hills. Up the Whitney Trail at Trail Camp.

Full disclosure... The mountainside is flipped horizontally in this photo to fit the galactic core in the photo properly.

I don't like the idea of artificially altering the geography for a photo like that, it feels like cheating. But ultimately it was getting cold and I didn't feel like wandering around in 20 degree weather alone at night at 12,000ft elevation. I think I might have actually been in my sleeping bag when I snapped the foreground shot.
