The problem is Team Trudeau (the current Liberal Party leadership) has never prepared for life after Trudeau. It's like when a team loses its coach or the player they built the team around and nobody is prepared for a future without them. It never ends well.

In hindsight, it should've been clear it would be like this. I never took complaints about his personality to be serious but I feel like I've been blind.

No doubt I could tell he was overconfident in a way that I found off-putting ever since I attended a Laurier Club dinner in 2014....it just never seemed to be a problem like it does now.

He used to seem open to criticism but he's shown himself to be so stubborn and out of touch.

There is no path forward. Literally cancelled my LC donation because I don’t know how we can move on from caucus revolts + the Freeland resignation. JT and Telford need to go. We are out of touch with everyday Canadians and the messaging isn’t working.

As the finance minister, I'm afraid Freeland is at least partially responsible for the state of Canada's finances. I appreciate that Trudeau is where the buck stops, but I wouldn't blame him if he didn't like her work on that front and wanted someone new in that place.

liberals in general are stun locked, they also seem out of touch to the average canadian and the same can be said about establishment democrats in america, the cost of rent and groceries is astronomical and his bandaid for working canadians is a joke were effectively subsidizing weston because when inflation went down the prices never did there needs to be price controls in place or its just going to be the same more for less

He stays until he resigns or is dismissed by the governor general. Or I suppose dies.

The governor general will dismiss the prime minister after an election concludes.

They had a narrow path to a minority government and staving off the Conservatives, they needed to win Quebec and the Atlantic coast and then partner with the NDP or Bloc. Staving away the Conservatives like that would probably have ended Pollievre's career and slowed the rise of fascism here, but Freeland decided that for her own personal benefit she couldn't tolerate a tax break that frankly won't break the bank, and blew it all to hell. That alone proves to me she's not fit to be PM.

Out of all the controversial policies passed this year - remember this is a government that's been widely protested due to their stance on Israel/Palestine - she upends everything and hands the Conservatives a blessing and an easy election win over a temporary tax break.

Why he would "do that to her"... I imagine he just thought she would be best in a role navigating the US portfolio since she helped negotiate NAFTA, and had to deal with a caucus revolting at the same time. I very much doubt it was any kind of personal dig. It's pretty narcissistic to be offered the US portfolio by the prime minister, a job I'm sure many ministers would dream of, and read it as an insult.

Seasoned LPC PM's are great at running the LPC into a deep winter. To be fair, LPC MP's beyond JT have given us some serious entertainment, including "the other Randy".

The LPC would need to ban affiliation with the WEF, allow MP's to speak freely for themselves, and be innovative while not alienating voter bases.
