This palace on Chicago's Astor street apparently missed the gilded age by about a decade and a half, but you could never tell. We had it in r/PriceMe last week.

Hand-painted ceilings, Italian marble everything, gold-plated fixtures...this place is giving baron vibes, except for the random sarcophagus in the entry foyer, that's gives more pharaoh vibes.  [OS]
