I love the idea of industrial conversions like this. And you can do your own for an investment of a mere $5 mil!

Right? And his partner is a "humanitarian aid worker." I'm guessing that the main source of income is something else ... like inheritance.
Hey son, here's $5 Mil. Go pursue your passions lol

I expected a lot more original charm and creativity. I just see stark white modernity.

You know, I see plenty of projects like this and many are in cold weather environs. How on earth do they efficiently heat all those soaring spaces and cathedral ceilings with just the wood or gas stoves we see in so many of them? I don't see any fans or mini-splits or any reference to heated floors/radiant heat...?

The orange couch adds daring color -only because it is the only other color than black and white in the entire place.

That is beautiful. I hope the foundation and surrounding soil are tested for toxins and other pollutants.

That's a good point ... I hadn't thought of that. 🤔

I’m sure you did. The message is not for the owner but for the future DIY builders

Lol at Somers being considered “upstate.” New York Metro area is more like it.

It’s upstate as a direction if you are a writer that lives in NY. Most New Yorkers don’t own cars. When I would tell them that I was originally from western New York, a 7 hour drive away, most people didn’t know the state was so large.

That…isn’t what I was expecting TBH. I was thinking there would be more of the past reflected in the design. Also, that website is shit, especially on mobile.
