Cutting the power off frequently Question/Support

I’m cosidering getting a HomePod mini for my flat. The thing is everytime I leave the flat and remove the card by the entrance (similar to a hotel room) all power outlets (except the fridge and dishwasher) are switched off. Will this cause issues with the mini? Will it turn on on its own or will I have to pair it and set it up after each "blackout"? Anyone got an experience with this?

It will just turn itself on. If you’re also disconnecting the internet it might take a while to turn on though since it will need to wait for the internet to be available.

I don't have anything to say, but like omg that sounds so anoyying, I would not be able to live in an apartment that has that 😭

It’s simple. If there’s power. HomePod boots up. There are no power controls on the speaker. Just a touch area.

It'll power on and off fine, but obviously any remote Apple home capabilities will be unavailable while it's off. If that's something you care about, maybe extend the fridge outlet to set up a tech station that remains powered on nearby.

Not really, I just want a stationary bathroom speaker. I was just worried that it might get reset over and over again. Thanks for the comment. I think I will give mini a try.

Is that a normal thing in your country? I would think cutting the power off constantly would cause issues with certain devices.

Not being able to leave devices in sleep mode would be frustrating to say the least

What sort of card is it? Maybe you can just duplicate it somehow so the power always stays on, or does it interlink with something else, if you get what I mean?

Get a battery backup for the HomePod if you want it to stay on

Is a HomePod the right choice for use in a bathroom? Wouldn’t the humidity affect the speaker in the long term?

I have one in my hobby room (electrician). Every day when I leave the room, I completely shut down the power (like you). HomePod is working without problems.
