Multiroom Audio Lag Between ATV with Soundbar and ATV with HomePods Question/Support
I’ve got two Apple TVs set up:
- Living Room: Connected to a Toshiba TV, which outputs audio via eARC to a JBL 5.1 Soundbar.
- Bedroom: Connected to a TV and paired with a set of HomePods.
Here’s the issue: When I play music in multiroom mode, there’s a slight audio lag between the two setups. I’m guessing it’s because the living room audio is going through a wired connection (via eARC), while the bedroom setup relies on Wi-Fi.
Is there any way to fix or minimize this lag? Any tips would be much appreciated!

Yep, you need to switch the soundbar off from the earc and switch it over to Airplay, then Make sure the hompod speakers are ticked in the airplay, then they should all sync up better, make sure to switch of the airplay and back directly to your TV when you just want to watch a movie on your TV

You can’t really resolve this as there’s always going to be a mismatch between a wired and wireless audio transmission. Apple TV usually accounts for this but if your tv and/or soundbar have a lot of processing going on that can’t be disabled then the delay will always be there. See if you can disable any audio processing or upscaling on your tv or soundbar.
