SupFen measurement chart

Looking at putting in a gear order with SupFen for myself and my wife. Looking at the custom sizing guide... there are question. The "Total Length" (A) measurement - what does this actually want measured.

Is this measuring my length from shoulder to hip? Or are they requesting that I provide the total length that I would like the jacket to be? I feel that this may be a stupid question, but also it's a bit ambiguous, and I only get one try.

Just got an order of gear which included a customized thermo jacket from Supfen...

If it's a jacket, the piece length should be at your hip anyways, so the point is moot. If you wanted it to go beyond your hips this is the measurement you'd change.

My single experience with their custom ordering wasn't good, I couldn't find the measurements I sent them anywhere in the jacket that I finally received after four and a half months for an announced wait of two months. Overall I'm an XL an what I received was, at best, an L. More like an M/L.

To their credit, they gave me a pair of gloves for the wait. They are comfy and sturdyish.

I'm reselling my jacket and getting a spes. Based on my experience I'd add ~5 centimeters to all the measurements... But I can't establish a trend from one instance.

I hope your luck is better than mine and that you're ready for a long wait.

It’s the total length of the jacket so that depends on the type of gambeson you’re getting. I got a Claymore which goes down to somewhere between the top of the thigh and just below the knee, depending on what your preference is. If the jacket is designed just to go down to your waist then total length would be to your waist. Our club has bought maybe a dozen gambesons from them and the sizing has been good - at least I didn’t hear of any problems!
