Is this Lagos caviar? Why is it engraved JEWELRY & WATCHES

Why are the sides engraved?

Apologies, had to look up Lagos caviar, having never heard of them until today. The design is quite a common, traditional one in jewellery since antiquity, with both rope/twine and pallino motifs in use for thousands of years.

Beautiful ring though.

The stamp on the inside means the it's sterling (92.5%) silver.
