Need experts advice asap! In a really difficult situation. JEWELRY & WATCHES

Can someone please tell me what that stamp says? It’s supposed to be 99.9% pure thai gold (23-24k), it weighs about 18grams and I’ve got someone trying to tell me it’s a fake and it’s plated unfortunately they already took it as part of our deal however they are now saying they sold it to someone and convinced them it was real for $1,500aud. According to gold value recently it should be worth more like $2,400aud (18grams x $130per gram of 3. I know it’s impossible to determine for sure via a photo but after observations can the experts give me an opinion own what I should do.’mmm my u

The fact the stamp starts with a 9 does suggest a 99.9 or 99.5 pure piece, additionally, the colour is certainly right. There's probably also a stamp on the heart pendant, no? As to the price, my local, relatively honest, gold buyer would have paid around 2200 AUD for 18 grams.

22k is 916 or 917 so starting with a 9 won’t necessary mean it’s pure gold. I think it says 958 cause I don’t think the second number is a 1 or a 9 so it’s probably 23k. 23/24=0.958

I really can’t tell from the mark, I can’t make it out at all, but to me it looks like a high carat solid gold. 18 grams seems about right as it looks fairly small and gold is very dense. If a dealer is that desperate to convince you it’s plated, firstly they’re not a dealer they’re a scam artist, and secondly it’s very likely to be solid otherwise they wouldn’t be interested in the slightest.

I’ll wait for an expert to give their opinion but that’s my take on it.

Thanks i appreciate it. What worries me is that instead of returning it to me as planned he has sold it to someone else and convinced them it was real…. H should of returned it to me like promised because i told him i was going to take it to a professional valuation place

Definitely a con artist. I’m vindictive so id probably threaten legal action against him to be honest. That’s absolutely unacceptable and you should make and shame in any way you can. People like that shouldn’t be allowed to do business in any way at all.

So he’s sold to his mate who makes the tea in his shop …. He’s a scammer, saying that I hope he has paid you out well ..

He didn’t need to convince them it was real. He already knew it was. 😞

Tell him you will be calling the police. If he sold the piece as real when fake then trying to tell you some excuse. The whole situation screams he needs his teeth knocked out for scaming people. Take your fist to his face if he doesn't give you your money back l.

That may be read 958 or 999. So it is high-carat gold; take it to a REAL professional to be checked.

So did the other guy already pay you?

I am convinced he is trying to scam you. If he thought it was fake he would have reported it to you straight away and retuned it . Stand your ground on the price you agreed . Don’t allow this scammer to try to fiddle you .

If it’s sticks to a magnet it’s fake.

He is full of S. no way he would sell it as real if it was fake looks like high karat gold. He either took it to a pawn shop or is keeping if for themselves.

That’s 24k even without a stamp the colour is right.
