Too long, need wide. 👩🏻‍🌾 Recommendations wanted

I have chilli plants which bears fruit every year for few months. This plants stay outside and get plenty of sun, 8AM - 2PM. Pots are deep and wide and filled 8/10 with soil and mulch. Plants are located in Sydney backyard and summer time is when they produce the chillies. I water almost everyday and the pots do have drainage with holes underneath. What can I do to make they grow bushier rather than longer. I have tried cutting the main stem but they keep growing long. Help.

It’s clearly reaching for afternoon sun. This spot will continue to result in them reaching between 2pm and 7pm. Find a spot where it can get afternoon sun without reaching for it.

Thank you. I’ll move them where they can get afternoon sun. But would you say they should get sun through out the day or moving opposite for afternoon sun would be okay as then it will block the morning sun.

I feel that judging off the current growth patterns they’d likely respond better to afternoon sun, they can relax and just thrive instead of reaching in the afternoon. They may need all day sun but I’d be confident in trying afternoon sun.
