Fungus Gnats Good start, now how do I keep them gone Using a mixture of apple cider vinegar, water, and honey. I am getting rid of the flying stuff, now how do I get rid of the larvae? Prefer to use ingredients from home. 👩🏻‍🌾 Recommendations wanted

Strictly bottom water from here on out. Let the traps capture the adults & a dry topsoil layer should solve the problem of future generations.

Is this is an indoor pot plant? Just buy/collect some collembola to out compeat them or Hypoaspis to eat them. Easiest long time solution.

It is jalapeno chillis, outside, however, I drag it back inside when it is 35 + in Adelaide.

I think, honestly, the best option is to consistently ensure good watering habits. Let the soil dry out properly, give them a good, deep water, let the excess drain out completelg and then leave them entirely until they dry out again.

Too many people water too frequently or do little top ups that only drench the tops of the soil and this encourages the gnats to breed and spread.

I never get fungus gnats any more - maybe I'm also just lucky. So I hope others can offer better solutions if you're also using good watering practices.

A drop of liquid detergent in the mix to break the surface tension.

Vectobac 12AS Biological Larvicid; it contains Bacillus thuringiensis which kills the larvae. Not cheap but does the job well.
