Let's pick a new quote for the side bar.

The quote in the side bar is lovely but our subreddit is not affiliated with ABC, so let's put some wise words from our community there. Please post below your most helpful, inspirational or educational comment related to Gardening in Australia.

Please comment and upvote your favourites and we can decide together. We will also rotate the quote from time to time.

Gardens are where the body gets to work and the mind gets to rest.

Alternatively, Red Room Poetry's New Shoots Anthology has some nice poems inspired by plants. I quite like this one, though the full poem is almost definitely too long for the sidebar.

Paving Stones — Mark Mahemoff

The olive tree next door
is gnarled and overgrown.
It dumps its bitter cherries
onto our paving stones.

Beside it there's another tree
I can't identify.
Its blossoms are so purple
they almost make me cry.

Two rainbow lorikeets
are swinging on a branch.
They're feasting on ripe persimmons:
April's sweetest treats.

What's left of this abundance
remains hanging in tatters.
In darkness flying foxes
take care of such matters.
