I'm pretty sure there supposed to be. The job isn't magically conjuring ice and stone they're painting it and the paint is coming to life so the effects should look a bit more stylized and animated and colorful. To me that's what makes it good.

I agree, it should look out of place. I had wished it was more akin to okami and those old school Asian brush strokes you see in games and anime but this is cute, it'll definitely grow on me

Mhmm I'm already really excited for it. After maining dark knight and reaper for most of the game I switched to warrior and bard for fun shenanigans instead of edge so I'm really excited for this.
