Well, we can thank the playerbase for that. People always complain about rotations and how hard they are, people cry nonstop if they have to press 4 buttons, so the devs just make easy to play stuff nowadays.

Im actually surprised we getting a new field operation, of how many people say Eureka and Bozja are “hard”.

yeah the 2m forced rotation was born out of the playerbase basically forcing everything to allign on 3m windows and if your job couldnt hit it then you werent brought along

This might be valid for any other role, but XIV's casters all play pretty uniquely from one another and have very different rotations and tools to manage movement mechanics, plus different party support options.

I got so salty when Astrologian was overly simplified. Same with when Scholar's second fairy was scrapped.

Unfortunately and I blame the devs too for this people just didn't understand how to play the older rotations for the jobs when they felt more unique. DRK, AST, SMN, and a few other jobs lost so much of their core identity over the years so bad players could play.

Big reason it took me so long to get through the early expansions as DRG. MSQ dungeon and trial mechanics weren’t very complex around that time, and the rotation was very basic until after level 60 or so. I hope eventually they overhaul the combat to make it a bit more engaging for the class’ unique role.

To be honest, te problem with classes like Dragoon - and most of the melee DPS - isn't a matter of unique but bad skill placement. Certain skills really need to be moved around for when you get them as you level because the issue really does come a lot from that.
