Question Tragedy! Will she be okay? 🥺 (mold)
Beautiful 35ish year old fern - I think shes maybe a New Zealand tree fern - I grew up with her (East bay, CA) and now I inherited stewardship of the house and, by extension, her wellbeing. Well my dumb ass thought that if I didn’t cut her hair (dead fronds) she would have some buffer from the long dry summers and cut down on watering. Besides, I figured her lineage must have evolved something in the absence of attentive gardeners - I know I know not her native environment and all that.
About a two months into our rainy season I look under the fronds and I see what’s in the photos. I’m shook.
With that context, here’s my ask: Will she be okay or is she past the point of no return? Is there anything I can do to help her fight off the mold besides the long overdue haircut I just gave her? (fronds on ground are since removed, pictured for context of volume)

Question What's going on with this maidenhair I'm trying to domesticate?
I've revived a wild maidenhair fern. It's first frond has 2 leaves. It's second and third fronds grew with no leaves. It was probably a couple of weeks between each frond growing.
Are these.greem strands fronds or stollen? Do maidenhair even get stolen, or is the plant lacking something so not growing leaves? It isn't planted well at the moment but I'm a bit scared to move it to pot it up properly.

galleryAm I suppose to be doing something when some of my ferns look like this? I’d like them to come in as healthy and full as possible in the spring. I planned on just leaving these unless I hear otherwise. Thanks in advance!!

Image Ready to propagate?
galleryHi! I noticed that on my fern plant I think these are spores. I’m wondering:
Are these in fact fern spores?
How do I know when they are ready to propagate? Some look bigger than others
What process works? I’ve seen some say to dry out in a paper bag, others say to lay on top of some soil? What works?
Any other advice?
See photos! Thank you!!

Image Help with my dried fern
galleryHello guys,
I’ve had this fern for half a year. I am watering it once a week now that is winter and I check if the soil is dry because I read that it doesn’t like too much water or to have water in the pot plate. I tried rising the humidity once every 2-3 days with water in the air or humidifier. In the summer here the air had high humidity and the fern had the same browning of the leaves problem, I thought maybe it was too hot for it then. The problem as it can be seen in the pictures is the browning of the leaves at the end and at the edges. It grows new leaves but they start browning at some point and stop growing. Could you help with some advice if you had this problem?

Question Maidenhair Fern Aphids
galleryHey guys. I need some advice. Whenever I get aphids on any other plant, I use some dishsoap lightly dissolved in water and spray them. And Ive always been successful in the past.
But on my Maidenhair Fern, the leaves are so delicate that the dishsoap actually seems to be drying up and destroying the leaves before it can kill the Aphids.
Has anyone dealt with a similar problem and has been successful in eradicating them?
For reference, these aphids are black and the ones I'm used to fighting are usually green.
Pictures attached.
Thanks!

Image 45+ yr old staghorn.
This beauty has been around a while, but recently gotten a little frost bit, when it dipped to 33, all the fronds have turned brown. And some squirrels have put some holes in her. Any suggestions to help nurse her back, and to stopped the squirrels from messing her up. Pic was from may earlier this year

Image Getting back into my plants after a tough year - my new fern arrangement!
galleryAfter being severely demotivated from thrips and constant health issues this year which required half a year to recover - I’ve finally gotten back into my plant collection and having a bit of a personal hobby renaissance. I made a fern arrangement today using an empty 50cm diameter pot lying around. It’s a very simple arrangement but water loving plants all around which I’m looking forward to looking after ❤️ planning to fill in the gaps with some natural looking rocks and driftwood which will be some fun this holiday season.
