Something to do What amenities do you wish Eugene had?
For the sake of breaking up the monotony of this subās typical posts, what are some amenities you wish we had here? I donāt care if they are unrealistic for the population. Iāll go first: Top Golf and go karts. I donāt want to drive 1.5-2.5 hrs for those up in Wilsonville and Hillsboro more than once a year, and would go to both a many times a year if they were local! Do not mention Swing Suite; I wonāt try it since it seems like expensive Wii golf lol!
I searched the sub for a post similar to this and didnāt find one. If there is, I didnāt want to spend more than 15 seconds scrolling for itš
Edit: The intent of this post is FUN- unrealistic or not. I totally get the valid qualms with Eugeneās problems but that is discussed daily on this sub. I said break up the monotony. For the most part everyone has been great about this and listed some excellent ideas. Please keep this fun and positive and save your grievances for the other posts in this sub that give you this opportunity daily!

Something to do Support Live Music!
The Big Dirty has announced that they will be closing Dec. 14. This comes just before Sam Bond's closes on Dec 18 (correction: end of December).
The reason these places are closing is simple: the audiences are not there. Eugene has a lot of amazing musicians and bands, but people don't go out to hear them.
Support local music by visiting local venues, while you still can.

Something to do Coffin races, parades, celebrations
We have nothing like these events where people come together, all the weird fun things that make eugene great. I miss when eugene felt vaguely like one big fucked up family

Something to do Anything to do alone on Christmas?
So Iām 28 F and canāt join my family for Christmas, meaning itāll just be me and my cat alone in my undecorated apartment. Anyone know of anything fun to do? I saw that Old Nicks is doing a LOTR marathon, which sounds kind of fun but also kind of lonely since I donāt have anyone to go with. Anyone know of other events or something worth going to? I figure I canāt be the only person sad and alone on Christmas around hereā¦
Edit/update: First of all, thank you so much for all of the suggestions, it honestly brightened my day. Second, my coworker invited me to spend Christmas evening with her and her family, so as long as her aunt says itās fine for a rando to show up at her house thatās probably what Iāll be doing. If that falls through then Iāll be going off of these suggestions, probably going to the LOTR marathon at Old Nicks.

Something to do Blackberries
The blackberries are faaaat this year, wow. If you haven't gone out looking for some, you should! The three things I'm gonna be doing first will be a banana blackberry walnut bread, blackberry whipped cream and maybe infuse some vodka or gin (or both) with some berries. I'm kind of curious, what kinds of things do you all enjoy doing with your blackberries?

Something to do Public places to target shoot
I know this is a question asked every so often here, but I think it is ok to ask again as some BLM areas get shut down and even gated from time-to-time.
I'm looking for spots less than 45 minutes drive from Eugene where I can legally set up targets and practice shooting. It seems unnecessarily difficult to find this information through BLM resources.
Thanks in advance, and know that I take the responsibility of gun ownership very seriously and always practice proper shooting ethics, including clean up of the site after use.

Something to do OCF
My bf and I moved just here a bit less than a week ago. So far, we are already loving this town and finding so much to do! Anyway, today we went to OCF. Iām seeing so many jaded comments about the fair:/ honestly, we really enjoyed it! The live music was spectacular, and it was so nice just walking and looking at things and people around. The place felt like a maze but in a fun way not in an overwhelming labyrinth kind of way. Bf and I are both on the reserved/anxious side w these event sort of things, and weāre both happy that the place just felt comforting, fun, and rly happy! Until next year, but if thereās anyone else who maybe was on the fence, Iād suggest you give it a try if you have someone close you can go with to soak it all in and enjoy the stroll!

Something to do Introvert NYE
Just seeing what other introverts are doing this fine evening! Most of the events I see involve dancing and since I have the rhythm of an epileptic monkey going through sick treatment I figured I wouldn't subject others to it.
It is the first time in a long time being single with nothing to do on NYE and so far staying home smoking a joint and not dealing with people is winning out. Though to fulfill a request from my therapist to try any suggestions?

Something to do Dustin, why won't you come out? The swat team has been asking for hours.
The police response has been impressive. Counted at least ten police vehicles, a swat tank, and SO many armed officers. The loudspeaker communication has been going on, very loudly, for hours. What's going on, Dustin?
