Vikings or Lions bars in Eugene Something to do

Post image

Anyone aware of bars in Eugene that back either the Minnesota Vikings or the Detroit Lions? I'd like to watch the game that's on tonight after 5PM. If it's dog friendly, that's a bonus. My boys been couped up too long.

Pretty sure I’ve seen dogs in the outdoor (covered and heated with TVs) space at Wetlands before, but that was a while ago so you might want to call them to confirm.

Pretty sure it’ll be on at the Kind Hop and they love well behaved dogs there. u/BeerMXer can confirm!

Thought they liked the raiders there

Oh we do. It’s Raiders first and foremost. However we have an amazing group of regulars that are from Michigan and just the Midwest in general so the Lions have a special place at The Hop as well.

Liking the lions requires a lot of alcohol

Normally this is 100% correct but unfortunately we are unexpectedly closed today.

Nice looking place. I've never heard of it. I'll stop by one day. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for all the comments! The game will be on at any bar but I was hoping for a place I wasn't aware of that went for either team. I know of some Raiders, Bills and Packers bars.

The dogs get out. They have a yard to run zoomies everyday and get to spend time outdoors when it's not down pouring rain, they're light rain with sun breaks kinda dogs. They also get to camp monthlyish all over Oregon. Skol!!!

Skol Vikings!

No idea of where to point you. Hop Valley on 1st has a bunch of TV's so you'll probably be able to commandeer at least one.

Just throwing it out there but if there's enough Vikings fans around town (or honestly NFCN fans in general) it'd be fun to setup some regular meets to watch games together somewhere!

Turns out that Game Day on 99 has a Vikings plaque on the wall behind the bar. The dogs stayed home and there's always the next game against the Rams on Monday the 13th!

Scribbles is a pretty cool spot to watch games. Multiple TVs and they’ll generally turn on any game you want if it’s on cable. Pups are iffy. If they’re very chill they might allow them inside. But generally speaking dogs aren’t allowed inside. It’s a small spot with food being prepped nearby. Worth checking it out though! One of our fav spots to hang and watch games.

I love Scribbles. I've watched a few games there over the years. They're the opposite of a Vikings pub!

It’s folks like you who make Reddit miserable. Saying you want to take your dogs with you or that they’ve been cooped up (we all have, it’s winter) doesn’t mean you don’t walk your dogs. Get a grip

Yes I was judging unfairly but it doesn’t come from nowhere. So many bum ass dog owners around here that just leave their pets in their home like a slave. “iTs RaiNinG :(((((“

Seriously. They don’t want to go to a bar for a football game… they want to go outside for a walk and sniff around.

Some dogs are pretty social and would welcome the opportunity to meet a bunch of people, get some treats, and smell some smells. You don't know OP or his dogs.

imagine we had these places where you could bring your dog to do these things in an environment that suits the dog… even include other dogs… We could call it a dog park?

Some dogs legitimately prefer indoors and despise rain. I had a side gig as a dog walker in NYC for a few years where I walked hundreds of dogs in all kinds of conditions. Even before they stepped outside, if they knew it was raining they would start backing away from the door. (There was also one whose owner insisted it wear a rain coat and rubber “boots,” but that’s another story . . .).

Also some dogs do not mix with dog parks for a lot of reasons such as anxiety, protectiveness, or aggressiveness.

Either way, OP is taking to the time to ask about a spot where they can spend time with their dogs and have bought them jerseys. I imagine their doggos get plenty of TLC. I think you’re barking up on the wrong tree pal.
