Victoricos, Taco Time, or Taco Belly? Food
You got $15 where you going?
I just found out the other day that Taco Time started here! Wild. Not ‘amazing’ but always good. Victoricos, love the look and atmosphere of the location on gateway but I will never forgive them for selling those chicken tamales to the public and calling it food, especially Mexican food. Taco Bell, it’s Taco Bell.
(Didn’t include Burrito Amigos, Dos Hermanos, or Burrito Boy because those are more like the Five Guys of fast food and I wanna talk proclaimed Mexican food/fast food. Did I miss one?)

I liked it fine til I watched one of the cooks come out to the dining room, blow her nose and then go back to make a burrito. Never again.

If you don't get 3 quesabirria at Tacos Mex, you made a mistake. Faster than that Tbell gargage too.
Support local business!

LOL you listed some chains and then said you don't want to go to the local places because they are like chains.

Crisp meat or whatever other crisp type burrito at taco time is always a go-to, taco time just feels more local . I'll forever stan for burrito boy over burrito shitmigos. I've never been to Voctoricos.

Tries Vic’s once and haven’t gone back. Taco Bell and taco time you know what you’re getting and probably just depends how much you want to spend. Personally I think time has better food but your dollar is going further at bell. Plus bell has more convenient locations.

Taco Bell has $8 tiny little garbage burritos and other Mexican food like chicken nuggets and ranch.

No shame, sometimes the crisp meat burrito from Taco Time is the only thing that will do. If I’m looking for sit down I’ll send $15 at Jalisco’s and leave happy. Mamis and Super are great. Does anyone know when Taco Time on W11th is reopening?

Get a massive super high quality steak burrito and a huge quesadilla at Taqueria Mi Pueblo and have $1 left over.

El Torito Market (formerly Plaza Latina) on 7th. The tacos al pastor are excellent!

I get the same thing every time I go to Taco Bell and Taco Time. I grew up on that and it’s nostalgic but I rarely eat there nowadays…
Taco Bell- veggie Mexican pizza and cheese quesadillas. I miss the 7 layer burrito!!
Taco time- crisp meat burritos with ranch, veggie burrito, berry or cherry empanada.

Easily Taco Time, though the W.11th has been annoyingly closed for a while now for “renovations”

Speaking of Burrito Boy they have raised their prices like most places have recently but their bean and cheese burrito is still only $4.50 … I like to add rice and sour cream for $1.50 each and it definitely fills you up.

I don't understand why Mucho Gusto doesn't get more love. Meats roasted in house, fresh veggies, great salsa and a variety of it, actual beans instead of that weird bean paste, affordable.
Aside from Mucho Gusto, I like the little taco trucks here and there. There's one in Cottage Grove I really enjoy but I forget the name... something Del Taco.

Their bacon breakfast burrito! And although my kid is 15 now, he still just wants their cheap and huge bean and cheese burrito. Some of the best around, it's legit!

Tacos Mex all the way. Although Victoricos Squashroom burrito with beans is actually yummy.

Tacotime lost me the day I watched them.microwave my meal like... right in front of me, and then used a (thankfully gloved) hand to test the temp, before putting it back in the microwave. I was done.

Crazy to see all the Victorico’s hate! I LOVE the victor-dilla with carne asada and their nacho fries are so good! Some of their food isn’t my favorite but those two items alone make them my fave Mexican fast food in the area.

First taco I ever saw was from taco time. My dad's buddy came over and unwrapped this strange food from a yellow wrapper. It smelled good, looked yummy and even sounded tasty. Sadly it was years later until I got to eat one. Circa 1960 I was 5 years old.

Never been to taco belly... But taco time I always regret... I'm a big fan of the Cali burrito at victoricos though if I'm lazy and want a drive through, it's generally solid.

Just not Taco Time. All I taste is grease when I have tried them, no flavor. TB has a few guilty pleasures of mine and Victorico’s has carne asada fries at least.

victoricos is the shittiest food i’ve ever had in my life i don’t know how they’re still in business

Victorico's has a drive thru, but I don't know if I'd call them "fast food", because they are definitely not "fast". Their burritos approach the goodness of Boy/Amigos, but if I want a big burrito, I'd rather hit up one of the local shops.
Taco Bell is my default fast food, though I occasionally get a craving for Taco Time. Del Taco is like the mid-point between Bell and Time, though the nearest one is in Albany. None of them are what I think of when I'm craving Mexican, though.

Of these three, I choose taco time. Crisp meat and stuffed mexi-fries. Taco Bell is good when you get a hankering - gotta eat it there though because I like the Mexican pizza and the cheesy Gordita crunch. I tried Victorico’s once and never again - overpriced and the tacos were the worst I’ve ever had. Anyone who can mess up a taco that bad is out!

Fr I was excited for victoricos when they first opened but they disappointed… I just went inside of taco time on green acres for the first time ever, was not what I was expecting lol so many decorations and the foods always okay 😁

El super TACO on 11th. Dos Agaves on 5th and Charnelton or Burrito Girl by Hummingbird. Super burrito is fine, could be way better. taco time is trash, Tacovour and Victoricos are over priced. Taco Belly is gone.

Nah overpriced. Go to El Buen Sabor just down the block or the Nelson’s food truck (only worth it with the food truck price vs after hours price)

You're budget for fast food is $15 for one person???

u/PunksOfChinepple 24d ago
They are budget.

u/washington_jefferson 24d ago
Some budget! I just went to Dominos website, and it showed that for $14 you can get:
Any 2 or more Medium 2-Topping Pizzas, Breads, Loaded Tots, Boneless Chicken, Pastas, Sandwiches, Salads, or Desserts for $6.99 each.
So, clearly it's not hard to stretch $15 in the fast food sector. Hell, you can get three In-N-Out Double Doubles animal style (whole grilled onion, chopped chilies, secret sauce) for $15.

A burrito at victoricos is like 13 bucks lol. How long has it been since you’ve eaten fast food?
0
u/washington_jefferson 24d ago
That's why you don't eat at Victoricos. That's highway robbery. Even Chipotle, which I would call fast casual, charges just under $10 for a burrito. Victoricos is straight up fast food. Not that I eat at Chipotle either- we have plenty of Mexican food carts.
If you don't order a soda, it's pretty easy to spend $7 or under at fast food places.

u/tylerprice2569 24d ago
Eh when I go to victoricos a burrito is breakfast and lunch cause the burritos are huge. I’ve never had anything else
3
u/washington_jefferson 24d ago
The problem with breakfast burritos is that so many establishments "cut" the burrito with exceptionally cheap and overly filling potato wedges or pieces. It takes up a lot of room inside the burrito and gives a false sense of value. It's like getting a huge tray of Asian or SE Asian food at a food cart, but it's mostly rice. If restaurants came out with the same sized burritos with zero potato filler- that might be something.

Get the Oregon burrito at El Super. Sub curly fries. Way better than any of those places you just named
