He was a part of what made Eugene Eugene.

The old, true heart of Oregon continues to slip away.

Rest in peace, Frog.

For us, time to treasure those little books a little more dearly.

I used to work at the copy shop he went to for making new joke books. He was a nice guy and a huge part of the local flavor. I’ll miss him.

I never met frog, but I've read of him in this sub dozens of times. He sounds like the type of person who made a place a bit more magical.

Do you want to hear the funniest joke ever? 🤣🐸💔

Here's something you probably didn't know about Frog.

He volunteered at the WOW Hall hundreds of hours (very likely well over a 1000) over the years.

That's super legend status as far as contributing to the arts in our community. I hope this little tid-bit becomes attached to his lore as it's probably one of the most unsung aspects that few people knew about him.

A sad day indeed . I first met Frog in early 90’s at the Saturday Market . What a wonder Human Being. Journey Well Frog your presence will be missed ✌🏻

Grew up with his books as a wee lad. May he rest in power and in peace.

I didn't know who he was but I mentioned someone tried to sell me a joke book to my buddy and he's like “oh, you met Frog.”

Super nice guy, RIP!

It’s officially the end of an era…Frog was such a big piece of what made growing up in eugene, in the 80’s & 90’s, so magical. The stars will shine a little less over our town

Anyone know the guy's politics? What would Frog's voting guide have looked like? Ballot measures, etc.

Have some class.

I was guessing he was bummed he missed the election, thought this would be a fun way to honor the dead.

Never understood the sequestering of politics from other topics.

Some people just have a stick up their butt. Carry on OP.

Tasteless

Based on his political joke book that was outdated when I was a teenager, IIRC, he was somewhat critical of George W. Bush.

I may be sensing a trend…

He hates trump, I know that. I have one of his more recent books and it included some printed out political memes that I think are pretty reflective of the general hippie viewpoint.

That being said I know a lot of hippies that don't bother to vote. I think if you'd have asked him who to vote for he would've said "whoever the hell you want"

Hippies (ultimately) don't believe in oppressing anyone.
