[SECRET] The meeting of the An-Xileel SECRET

"I have called you here today, leaders of Argonia, because of the urgency of the matter."

Qajalil goes around the whole table, looking at each and every one of the Argonians invited, before sitting down at the front.

"As you may know, I am the youngest leader of the An-Xileel. I will probably as well be the youngest to die."

He takes out a deep sigh, before continuing.

"I have summoned Sithis. Our lord, patron of the Dark Brotherhood and the one which chooses the Shadowscales. And he gave me a vision."

He again takes in a deep breath.

"I saw troops, marching. Blood was spilling everywhere. That may not be so crazy considering we are at war in the Nibean bay, but this isn't a vision of present. It is a vision of future..."

He gets up and turns his back to the table.

"I saw the Dark Elves. Many of them, in fact. Dying. Those troops and that blood, it all leads up to that. Then, The Hist, growing. I believe that will be important as well. And then I saw the most unsettling part."

He turns around.

"I saw myself dying. I saw my lifeless body on the ground. I don't need any more signs to know that my ends is near."

He then stops talking, and sits back down again.

"Han-Ru, you were right. I am sorry I ever doubted you. The Dunmer are going to attack. And it won't be some easy visit. It will be a great invasion, just like we did it centuries ago. And it will be horrible. It might as well be the greatest war our country has ever seen!"

He gets up.

"BUT WE WILL BE READY! WE WILL KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM! WE WILL DESTROY THEM! WE WILL TAKE THE ENTIRE WORLD TO THE BATTLE, IF WE MUST!"

He calms down a bit, and then continues.

"It is too late now to return our troops from the Nibean Bay. So we must be successful there. We must win, and make our victory count. For if we don't, for if we fail... Then we won't be ready. And I will not allow that."

He again, turns around.

"I wish I was sure that this wasn't certain. I wish we could make sure they don't attack. But most of all, I wish I won't have to die. But I doubt it. So now, I must start looking for an heir. I want your input on other matters. This last one is my own."

/u/Techno-Slime /u/CaptainRyRy

[M] Also, /u/cthulhuh00p Can I have some count as my heir and when I die, I get control of that place? Or does the Archwarden of the An-Xileel have to be landless?

You can have the leader of Stormhold lead the An-Xileel next, if you want. Then you can have Stormhold.

[M] Oh, OK, cool. I'll do that. I'll make an event for that later. But I have an unrelated question to you. I was playing with the spreadsheet when I realized that there is no manpower in the values spreadsheet. How do we figure out what it is?

Base manpower is calculated by the spreadsheet based off of military modifier, whether you're tribal, whether you have a volunteer army, your population size, etc.

If you're referring to current manpower (in blue), then you set it to "remaining manpower" at the beginning of the first year. Every year after that, update it to be "end of year manpower".

How is it calculated? I am just curious.

EDIT: And what are the consequences of setting the military to, you know, not volunteer military?

If the volunteer value is something other than 1 or 0, the sheet shits its pants. If it's 1, everything is normal. If it's 0, your manpower effectively doubles, and military expenditure is cheaper. Naval expenditure, however, goes up if you have volunteer army. The manpower formula is:

=Pop_Cur0.05Mil_Mod(((Tribal-1)-1.33)+1)(((Khan-1)-1)+1)

So basically, 5% of your population x your military modifier. If you are volunteer army, it doubles. If you are tribal, it's 2.33 times the normal.

OK. I've got it.

OK, you aren't making any sense.

If the volunteer value is something other than 1 or 0, the sheet shits its pants. If it's 1, everything is normal. If it's 0, your manpower effectively doubles, and military expenditure is cheaper. Naval expenditure, however, goes up if you have volunteer army.

When it should be

If the volunteer value is something other than 1 or 0, the sheet shits its pants. If it's 1, everything is normal. If it's 0, your manpower effectively doubles, and military expenditure is cheaper. Naval expenditure, however, goes up if you DON'T have volunteer army.

Or not having a volunteer army is just too OP.

0 means you do have a volunteer military. Volunteer military means more troops and cheaper troops, but more expensive ships. It's definitely better than having a non-volunteer military, but it's only for special occasions.

Wait, how does having a volunteer army mean more troops? When people have a choice, they prefer to stay home. When they don't, they... Well, they don't. Doesn't that mean more men?

It's not a policy thing, it's a special circumstance. For instance, Torval. The military is made up of devote Khajiit who wish to serve the Mane. This lowers the cost and increases the number of troops.

Well, I'm on vacation and can't really do much. But I'll try.

I can edit spreadsheets so I'll assume I have more men than most Argonians states, as I look bigger.

Damnit I guess it's time to reread my brother's Oblivion handbook.

I didn't mean you, I meant TEchno Slime, altough you should as well get to it. For him, this is teh second time I am telling him. Also, you have spreadsheet values which tell how your country is doing.

Meant to say I CAN'T edit spreadsheets on my phone.

You, Tear, and Archon are tied for most people with 200,000.

Also /u/Techno-Slime GET YOUR WIKI UPDATED! IT IS IMPORTANT! And I think the mods do something bad if it isn't updated.

[I just talked to him and showed him what to do for the wiki. But remember, when summoning other PC's you have to make a general post with what Qajalil is doing, then summon the other PC's in the comments. Not every person will show up to meetings, they may send letters instead.]

2

u/ikar100 Sadean The Traveler Aug 14 '15

I summoned everyone. The first comment in this post is me summoning them.

2

u/bulletr0k Jarin Morningfall | Knights of the Nine | Wiki/Claims Mod Aug 14 '15

[You can't roleplay for them, though. Your first post should be a letter to summon the PC's, and then the PC's may choose to reply or not. For example, /u/techno-slime might have wanted to send a letter instead of leaving his home for this meeting, but you forced his character to be here]

u/ikar100 Sadean The Traveler Aug 14 '15

[Well gee wiz, I just screwed up everything by having everyone attend the meeting. And I am the first one. OH WAIT, I AM NOT. The Empire did it as well. Besides, he must not miss this meeting. It is important. Unless he is killed or imprisoned, he has to get his ass over here.]

2

u/bulletr0k Jarin Morningfall | Knights of the Nine | Wiki/Claims Mod Aug 14 '15

[If you read the Emperor's post he doesn't decide whether or not they show up, he says he eagerly awaits them. He is still in charge of his character, regardless of rank.]

u/ikar100 Sadean The Traveler Aug 14 '15

[FIIINE MOM, I'M SORRY.

But I will probably end up doing it again. Sometimes I require people to show up and cannot accept a mere letter. Like in a meeting. I then talk to them, because they had to show up, it's a meeting. I am not talking FOR THEM, I am talking TOO THEM. I remember once in a roleplay thread I was so against people saying stuff for other characters, even if they are NPC's, that I got kicked out.]

[In a setting like this, it is impossible to assume that someone will just appear at your request if they live in another country. If you were at his home, you would still have to request an audience. You don't know his intentions or plans, he may be elsewhere. I understand where you are coming from, just be respectful of other players.]

["I meant no disrespect of course." That Jarls Steward, I can't remember his name. Anyway, I will try to follow your advice.]
