I want to start this out by saying I consider myself to be a moderate. I attended a Donald Trump speech in 2019 when I was aboard my ship the USS WASP. They isolated the hangar bay from the rest of the ship and at 6 am we boarded back on through a separate make-shift entrance to the hangar bay for an 1130ish speech. I waited five or so hours and had a great opportunity to talk to about 4 different agents in that time. They pretty much gave us the run down of what to expect the visit to be like and we had opportunities to ask them what it was like being on the POTUS detail. Most of them had worked under both administrations at that time and said they loved what they did but said that Trump was difficult because you could give him the itinerary and he would go off and do whatever he wanted regardless and it made the planning very hard. After he was done they tried to usher him to the exit but he stayed with us for pictures for at least fifteen minutes and I laughed at how frantic that made the agents. I appreciate him for taking pictures with us but my first hand experience with him is he doesn't listen to anyone and he's going to do whatever he wants.

Which is how he got to be one of the most successful people in the history of mankind. In general, you should be very careful about taking advice from people who aren't in a position you'd like to be in.
