Texas Shortstop Viviana Martinez is out for at least the first half of the season.

The rumor that I'm hearing is tore ACL.

This puts Goode at short and Bennett at 2nd now, so Mia Scott is back in the infield which is a bummer for Texas

Did this happen recently? Isn't an ACL normally like a 9-month recovery, minimum?

That's the werid thing, the one OU dude on discord who is really like really knowledgeable said he heard ACL.

My heart just breaks for her but tbh add another 9 months to recover preinjury explosiveness in a lot of cases.

Like a MI playing at this level it’s quite possible the quick recovery route to comeback midseason may not be the best route for her career and she may want to at least consider slowing the timeline down and petitioning for another year of eligibility.

Am ofc not a doctor and sincerely hope none of that applies to her just what I have seen in other sports, which especially given her position is at least something to consider.
