What makes him different from other Austrians is:
Focus on emergent orders. Other economists had danced around this, but Hayek was the first to focus clearly on it.
Free banking. To the detriment of Purist(tm) Rothbardians, Hayek built upon Menger, Bohm-Bawerk, and Mises to work on the economics of free banking.
His steadfast refusal to call people "socialist" over minor disagreements on economic methodologies. /snark
