Mini Cooper blowing hot air on passenger side but cold air on drivers side. Heating

My girlfriend's Mini Cooper is blowing hot air from the passenger side vents but cold air from the drivers side vents.

The AC is turned off, car has been running until engine is of temperature and the settings are set correctly.

The circular vent in the top center of the dashboard, left side blows hot air and right side blows cold air.

Could this be related to a blocked air filter or an issue within the dash unit?

I had the same issue and it turned out to be the selector was jammed up. Different model of car, but could still be your issue

Sorry, but that's the selector? Is this for selecting the temperature?

It’s the one to change zones. I tried switching from defrost to regular and it got stuck

You can try disconnecting the battery and letting it sit for like 10 minutes (usually how long I wait) and then reconnect it. This could potentially reset the system if it’s an electronic issue with your hvac actuators.

It’s usually the easiest first step I’ll take when an issue like this occurs.

Sure sounds like a blend door issue to me
