Defense attorney James Monroe said Webster had a right to defend himself against a “bad cop” who was using excessive force.
So if you're a retired cop now, you're allowed to fight back? Hmmm 🤔

u/RowanIsBae May 02 '22
He's retired NYCPD. Can you even imagine how many minorities he's assaulted in his career during arrests or otherwise? And they couldn't fight back?
This piece of trash goes to the Jan 6 event to march for Trump based on bullshit lies and then attacks a cop claiming self defense. When we can be 110% sure that cop did absolutely nothing to him compared to the bullshit he did to people over his career.
These losers throwing it all away and going back on what they claim to stand for.....for Trump of all people lmao

u/seejordan3 May 02 '22
It's pathetic and sad how faux Newz preys on the less intelligent of us Americans.
24
u/ComprehensiveBit7314 May 02 '22
I feel his record of arrests should be scrutinized, now that we know how he REALLY feels about the law.
17
u/waka_flocculonodular May 03 '22
Not even that. He's going through the legal system, let's bring up everything in his past. You know, like we do when someone gets locked up for possessing cannabis.
2
u/Thormidable May 03 '22
It's probably worth people checking who he put away. Real shame if they got to spend some time reminiscing
1
u/Skippy_the_Alien May 04 '22
He's retired NYCPD. Can you even imagine how many minorities he's assaulted in his career during arrests or otherwise? And they couldn't fight back?
Especially if he was a police officer when that lowlife Giuliani was the mayor. Giuliani made his political bones and won the Staten Island vote by basically bragging about promoting police brutality

End his retirement benefits even if he doesn't go to jail. Can the cop sue him? Take his house.
13
u/Thormidable May 03 '22
He's going to prison. Like everyone with a jury trial on Jan 6th so far.
Don't lament the wait. because of that, they are all going to prison.
56
u/Mobile_Busy May 02 '22
A judge decided two other cases without a jury, acquitting one of the defendants and partially acquitting the other.
McFadden
12
u/Anger_Mgmt_issues May 03 '22
thats how these seditionists thought it would go. Acquitted by one of the plethora of Trump judges, or pardoned if they drew the short straw and got a real lawyer
2
u/Mobile_Busy May 03 '22
There's only one Trump judge acquitting.
3
u/Anger_Mgmt_issues May 03 '22
Yes. they thought they all would. it is not going as they expected.
2
u/Mobile_Busy May 03 '22
One of his appointees had some sharp words for an ex-Marine who pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 2 years.
Not McFadden.

You just insulted a lot of people who enjoy sucking cock.
18
u/AndyLorentz May 03 '22
In my personal experience, people who suck cock are the kindest, most generous people on the planet.
It should be a compliment, not an insult.

7
u/eganvay May 02 '22
the lawyer trying to shill it should be called out as well.
12
u/buffyfan12 Light Bringer May 02 '22
Lawyers have to come up with a defense.
Had it worked he would be a legend.

u/-strangeluv- May 02 '22
Rotting in prison? How many days do you think he'll get? 2 or 3? A full week maybe?
8
May 02 '22
If it wasn't this guy, another of these fucksticks was just sentenced to two years in Federal prison (that's after all potential credit). Two years after making a plea deal - wonder which fish he helped to fry.
3
u/MenuBar May 03 '22
wonder which fish he helped to fry.
I wanna see that face when they realize the buddy that would never rat on you, rats on you.
"He's a good man, I'd trust him with my lif.... WHY THAT SUNNOVABITCH!!!!"

u/Ontario0000 May 02 '22
So if a civilian was to defend themselves from a "bad cop" it be ok?.
28
u/BridgetheDivide May 02 '22
If you're the right type of White, the right type of Christian, and conservative then yup!
28
May 02 '22
So far these defendants are 4-0 in going to trial. Keep it going!
I hope this asshole gets 25 years.
3
u/kirby056 May 03 '22
0-4
Losses come second. Don't let these seditionists think they're winning.
Edit: I just realized you may have meant that Lady Justice is 4-0. If that was your intent, I'm sorry for the correction.

I just want to recognize Capitol Police Officers Noah Rathburn and Joanna Burger. If they hadn’t bravely fought back against Webster (aka Eye Gouger) and other scum, the American government could have been taken over by an unelected authoritarian President on Jan 6th, 2022. Rathburn only had a bike rack standing between him and an enraged Webster.

You can't accuse cops of assaulting an officer, when you are off duty assaulting an officer...
12
u/TheCheshireCody May 02 '22
I wonder how he'd have responded if someone assaulted him when he was on duty the way he did in DC. No, actually, I don't wonder - he'd have shot them with intent to kill. This asshole should consider himself lucky he's only getting jail time.
12
u/hjablowme919 May 02 '22
"Self defense". Makes you wonder how many times he beat up a suspect and claimed "self-defense"?

19
u/FishtheGulf May 02 '22
They don’t fucking care!!! My dad is a police officer and calls these dipshits patriots, and also Antifa did it. So he’s pretty confused, but right in par with the rest of these assholes

1
u/rockbud May 03 '22
That's one of their main defense lies. Blame it on antifa when they get busted with facts.
I always let them know lots of these nutjobs getting busted have years old Facebook and social media accounts that show they are pro trumpers. They aren't antifa.

Combined maximum penalty of nearly 57 years in prison. He's done.
5
u/SpaceTabs May 02 '22
I'm using the Fyre Festival guy as a threshold. He was sentenced to six years, so that should be the minimum.

10
u/chacamaschaca May 02 '22
Webster (rioter) said he grabbed Rathbun (DC officer) by the gas mask because he wanted the officer to see his hands.
This fucking donkey.
5
u/FiveUpsideDown May 02 '22
I discount any of the excuses from Webster. Webster and the other scum have to come up with a story to explain the unbridled brutality shown to the Capitol and Metro Police on Jan 6th. Webster needed a story to tell him family, so his wife, kids and grandkids. The claim that the police made Webster attack puts Webster in the best light possible because of the video evidence. Webster will never admit that he supports authoritarianism. He was committed to over throwing the American government by attacking a police officer with a pole. Webster will never admit that he’s the bad guy. Webster will keep claiming to be a victim because it’s easier for him to live with being a helpless victim.
9
u/Bluehorsesho3 May 02 '22
To think this dude spent 20 years wearing the uniform and retired with a pension is pretty terrifying. Genuinely concerned about how many people this guy brutalized during that time.
3
u/jaguarthrone May 02 '22
DOJ is pitching a shutout in these jury trials. I'm really looking forward to Guy Reffitt getting sentenced in early June.

3
u/buffyfan12 Light Bringer May 02 '22
It’s about how even the honest cops have to “Go Along to Get Along.”

u/bad-monkey May 03 '22

2
u/wizardyourlifeforce May 03 '22
Good. This guy especially enraged me, probably because of the arrogance of that defense.
2
u/MuuaadDib May 03 '22
Must be surreal and eye opening to the gullible cops, that in fact while being beat with an American flags and Blue Lives Matter flags.... that these people are about violence and authoritarian rule not justice and freedom and support only their cult. Selective reasoning, morals, and over course freedom and speech.

but according to the RNC Jan. 6th. was "the Republican National Committee also declared the riot, whose stated goal was to delay the certification of President Joe Biden's electoral victory, as "legitimate political discourse."
perhaps this NYPD retiree pos will get his dose of political discourse in a well deserved long prison sentence

Thanks to a speedy trial we only waited 15 months for conviction. Only...5 months until sentencing. As long as the primaries are done I guess?
3
u/kirby056 May 03 '22
You realize the "speedy and public trial" part of the Sixth Amendment is to protect the accused, right? In old timey times, they'd just throw him in a cell, charged but never seeing a judge? His lawyer is the one that keeps the cogs moving. The State would be happy to see him rot indefinitely, but the US Constitution protects him, which is irony at its finest.
1
u/MiketheImpuner May 03 '22
I see two ? But only one question. Yes is the answer to your question. Although you didn't ask, I should clarify that nothing about this trial feels speedy.

He will be sentenced. He will be a felon, the sentence will be not commensurate with what it should be in my eyes.
Just because we moderate this subreddit does not mean we are necessarily happy with the process and its expected outcomes.

u/apkleber May 03 '22
There was just a Marine Veteran that was also charged and convicted of kicking a cop. He got 2 years so he will probably only serve 1 if he behaves himself in prison.

For those keeping count, that's 4-for-4 in jury trials, all guilty on all counts with very little time spent in jury deliberation.
