How much are tickets to Cancun this time of year?

u/jimtow28 Apr 29 '23
1 dignity. Sadly, Ted won't be able to afford the trip this year.
I wonder if it's his daiughters' fault again.

They’re finding tourists’ bodies in Cancun so I’m betting prices are cheap. Maybe only .25 dignity

Cruz was also touting as exemplar the process that resulted in the "Corrupt Bargain" of 1877, in which the Republican party abandoned freed blacks in the South to the whims and oppression of Jim Crow laws, in exchange for a 1 term presidency.
An early example of R's "win-at-expense-of-any-principle" "ends-justify-means" mentality. And of selling out many of their own voters for a bit more power.
Even as he spoke on the floor, some of his fellow Republicans questioned/criticized the use of it as some example to follow.

This comment should be at the very top. The complete annihilation of Cancun Cruz’ request. Please accept this poor man’s gold: 💰

Texas, we need to vote him OUT

Do something about Abbott too, please.

Don't hold your breath, the Texas AG, Ken Paxton, has been under federal felony indictment for several years now and it hasn't impacted his political career in the state.

Please let Cancun Ted suffer the hopefully serious consequences of the shit he espouses.

Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham might go down as the most pathetic, sniveling sycophants in modern history.

About time some of these "Congress" people got caught for their part in J6.

We can only hope that another ally of Trump has destroyed himself like so many others. It was an illegal coup attempt. He deserves no less than the insurrectionists. In fact, as a public figure, elected leader and lawyer that thinks he’s smarter than everyone else…a chant comes to mind… lock him up!

u/Talkaze Apr 29 '23
They need to subpoena Fox News. They may have more than one set of these kinds of tapes. Fucker Carlson should be on the chopping block with Cancun Cruz, regardless of him being fired.

The Grossberg and Crikey News lawsuits may uncover more in that space, as those will likely get deeper into the inner machinations of the Murdoch empire. There's also the $2.7B Smartmatic suit. Along with the fact that these lawsuits are breeding more lawsuits. Discovery is a mfer.

Hannity talked to trump every night, he basically ran the WH for trump. Staff called him the “ shadow chief of staff”. https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-sean-hannity-talk-before-bed-2018-5

No...he knows that Trump always takes care of those who have supported him in the past.

They openly pushed their "10 day assesment" plot on the floor in their objections on January 6th/7th. I'm sure there is more in these tapes, but it was made clear, long ago, they were trying to delay the transfer of power and stop/delay certification.

u/Sasselhoff Apr 29 '23
Meh, can't say that I see much coming from these. Every quote I've seen of his is said in a way that he can easily say "Well see, what I was trying to say was 'x', not 'y'" and there won't be much argument (or at least, not any that would stand up to court scrutiny).

Yeah tbh, I despise the guy and his actions, but--from what I've seen/heard about this so far--this seems to me like media overblowing significance of this and trying to keep the assembly line at the outrage factory running. But I'm also not a prosecutor or lawyer, so I could be wrong.
5
u/Sasselhoff Apr 29 '23
Same. He's a total piece of shit that doesn't deserve to be a janitor in DC, much less an elected official...but, blowing things out of proportion that are essentially "nothing" isn't helping anything.
I mean, it definitely makes sense for Jack Smith to look into it (no stone unturned in a case like this), but people are acting like it's some giant "gotcha", and I simply don't think it is.
3
u/Bernies_left_mitten Apr 29 '23
Yeah, I take no issue with Jack Smith requesting or accepting the tape. That's just good due diligence. I just doubt he's viewing it quite the same way MSNBC or so are wishing to present it. So far as I can tell, it pretty much just proves Cruz wanted more evidence to justify a delay and investigation. Not necessarily anything beyond that. To me this is less a "smoking gun" and more a "birthday wishlist had a Ruger on it."

"less a smoking gun" and more a "birthday wishlist had a Ruger on it."
Haha, that's fantastic...I'm definitely appropriating this.

Block the Mexican border

u/linderlouwho Apr 29 '23
Only after we throw Cruz over there.
4
Apr 29 '23
Don’t do that to the fine people of Mexico. Throw that turd in prison where traitors belong.
1
u/linderlouwho Apr 30 '23
You're right. Over the years, I've been acquainted with about 20+ Mexican immigrant people, and all of them are wonderful, except one jackass. They don't deserve that POS, Cruz. You'd think due to his heritage, he would not be so heartless about immigration, since his parents were immigrants. (His dad was fighting alongside of Fidel Castro to help implement communism, as well.)
1
Apr 30 '23
He sold his heritage long ago. The spineless Buck even sold out his parents, wife, and children.
Seriously. I can’t imagine trying to overthrow the government for a man who said shit like that about my wife. The Russians must have some really, really good shit on him.

"And then said again on the Senate floor four days later," Cruz tweeted
Oooo Teddy, this means you can't just disregard it as an off the cuff nothingburger as it's an indicator of intent. I'm wondering what else Gentleman Jack has on you?

I’m read to say that Texas should form it’s own country. Then we could pick up Puerto Rico.
