What a tough start to 2025. I got a call from HR today letting me know that management had to let me go because of the impact of the California wildfires—they’re unable to keep me on right now. It’s hard to process, especially since I was hoping this job would bring some stability. How do you handle situations like this? Any body else got fired due to this?

Nag wowork ako sakanya $6 per hour full time flexible, tas gulat ako nag send sya ng message na ganyan. Ang ibig sabihin ba nito ang ginagawa ko ay may standard. Though malakas ang self awareness ko sa mga compliment na baka maging blindside ito ay di makita weakness ko. Pero ang tanong may meaning ba yung ganitong message?

Super depressing ng nangyari this week. This is my first remote work na direct sa client (US). Reason ko kaya ganito set-up ay dahil sobrang fed-up na ko sa traffic ng NCR kaya tyinaga ko talagang makahanap ng WFH na direct kahit napakaming interviews and work assessments. Hired last October 2024 and until now okay naman.

Not until nagkaroon kami ng weekly meeting update kasama buong company (below 15 lang kami) na usual naming ginagawa every week. I noticed na wala yung isa namin ka-work. Hindi na ko naghanap kasi baka naka-leave lang or something.

Ngayon, chinika sakin ng kasama kong pinoy sa ibang department-- na-lay off daw pala yung nawawala kong kaworkmate kesyo hindi makameet ng deadlines ganon. Sobra akong kinabahan kasi walang notice sa buong team. Like talaga? Agad-agad tanggalan ganon.

Aware naman ako nakakameet ako ng deadlines pero first time ko tong niche na pinasok ko. Talagang nagbida-bida lang ako sa interview kaya ako na-hire.

Sorry medyo mahaba na pero di ko alam kung kakayanin ko ba yung ganitong halos every week may fear ako na baka matanggal ako bigla. Kayo ba, anong ginawa nyo? Parang gusto ko tuloy bumalik nalang sa corporate.

PS. Nagbigay lang ako ng background info kasi open naman ako sa feedback/comments nyo. Baka kasi makaka-OA lang ako.

Kahapon, in the middle of my shift nagchat ako sa manager ko and nabigla ako kasi para siyang nagalit sa paggamit ko ng BTW. Kasi raw informal. Hindi naman yun first time na gumamit ako non, 1 year na kami magkatrabaho. Then ayun nga, sinita niya ako tapos nagsend pa siya ng message na halata mong galing sa ChatGPT. Tapos nangaral pa na hindi at never daw legit ang American English, British lang daw ang formal—any English outside british ay considered na slang.

Naloka ako. Sinabihan pa ako sa GC namin na same daw kami nung 2 recruiters na mexican na hilig din daw gumamit ng BTW eh informal daw. So parang ini-insist niya na gumamit ako ng English (UK) talaga e di naman yun nakasanayan ko???

Feeling ko tuloy, parang ako kinagalitan niya kasi di niya masita yung 2 recruiters. Tama ba? Hahaha. Anyway, kapag ako nagresign gugulatin ko na lang siya kapag hiningan ako ng feedback sa management. Di ko siya mareport ngayon at baka iba pa mapuntahan ng reklamo ko at baka sensitive lang ako masyado?

Ayun lang. Kwento ko lang bungad ng 2025 ko sa work. 🙄

My experience working at this company was extremely disappointing. Despite the glowing reviews, the training process was not at all as rigorous as advertised. They simply weed out half the class to maintain an image of exclusivity. Additionally, the never-ending list of monthly requirements—upskilling, video submissions, resume updates, and more—made it impossible to focus on client work, and the quarterly reviews felt like a time-wasting exercise, asking the same set of questions every quarter. The constant preparation for rematching also pointed to high turnover rates, making me wonder why they didn't focus on client and employee retention.

The company’s greed is also on full display, as XPs (EA) are only allocated a measly 30-35% of what clients pay the company. While other agencies usually provide a larger share of client fees to their workers, this one allocated only 30-35% to its XPs, displaying a worrying disregard for employee compensation, despite the heavy workload placed on them.

The worst part came when I resigned. The process of returning my laptop was riddled with delays and miscommunication. I offered to have it picked up on multiple occasions, but it was not collected until two weeks after my offboarding date, and then I was blamed for the laptop being locked due to multiple incorrect password attempts. This was false, as I had provided the correct password in the offboarding form. It felt like they were trying to delay my final pay during the holidays, causing me a great deal of stress and frustration.

To add insult to injury, their HR department ignored my pleas for consideration during the holiday season, despite my having followed all procedures correctly and promptly. It was abundantly clear that they were deliberately withholding my final pay, which is illegal and unethical. The lack of empathy shown by this company is appalling, and I would not recommend anyone work there unless they enjoy being treated with disrespect and having their time wasted.

Saglit palang ako sa company ko, pero in the past 7 months na I've been working here, 6 na tao na ang dumagdag (nung nagsimula ako kaming dalawa palang ng boss ko magkatrabaho). Medyo nakakalungkot na I have to fire someone pero substandard at masyado talaga mabagal ang output niya. He's still a bit young (di ako sure pero he seems to be around 19-20 years old).
