Smalls Sliders

Thumbnail i.redd.it

8/10

The sliders were good, although not fully seasoned to my liking. The fries on the other side, were the best part of the meal. With the added bacon (+$2), the meal ended up being a little over $12 after tax.

Keep in mind, this rating was made with the exception of the thousand island signature sauce that they put on their sliders, which I opted to remove. They also push you to add Queso on the fries or on the side, which I also declined! Give them a try and see if you like.

PLEASE, beware of the high demand as it’s new and always has a line down the road!

Living & Nightlife Fried rice??

Okay, I'm back home visiting. I LOVED Mandarin house's lunch and dinner buffets growing up, but I guess ownership changed a few years ago and I've heard it's not good anymore. Where's the best fried rice in town? Fuji sushi was not it.

Auburn University Fraternity/Greek Questions

So I’ve always been curious about fraternities and just Greek life in general. Some people from my school make it seem like a blessing if you get into one. I know people who have “Greek Coaches” and they tell them the things they are and aren’t allowed to post on social media and a whole plethora of other things. It’s just really off putting because it seems to get into it you have to fake who you really are.

Is this really that important of a thing? I always thought it was just paying for friends and just something people do for status

Hello Everyone, I hope to plan to transfer to Auburn as a Freshman in Fall 2025. I had less than 24 credits so I am going in as a Freshman Transfer. I currently have a 3.5 GPA but I didn’t take the SAT/ACT.I had a 2.6 in HS. I am currently in Community College.

Visiting NYE

Sleeping in the area during NYE on the way to the Peach Bowl, never been to Auburn before wondering where the best place to celebrate it and watch the bowl games will be. I know most of Auburn's probably back home but what are some bars or restaurants I should check out

Any chance there'll still be space in The Jungle at tip off tonight? Or is it going to be a packed house?

Girlfriend wants to go to the AU basketball game tonight, but I'm stuck at work until 5:00pm. Anyone familiar with the situation at the arena and can tell me what seat availability might be like in the free, first come first served Jungle seating?

Auburn University Dorm vs. Apartment for Freshman

I’m an incoming freshman (still in HS) but I’ve been accepted to Auburn and it’s my most likely choice of schools. Now I know that AU gives you the choice of where you live your first year which is cool and I’d like to take advantage of that for my freshman year however I just wanted to ask current students and alumni which would be better, dorm or apartment for my first year? Thanks!

Auburn University Finding Friends?

So I got accepted and while I’m super hyped about that I realized that I’ll only have one friend who I plan to dorm with.

Now he’s a great friend but yk I do want to meet other people from what I’ve heard from family and seen on this subreddit it can take years to make friends with people.

Any advice?

Calling old folks: old comic shop in the 1980’s

This may be too old for most people here, but it’s a Hail Mary before I start having to hit libraries for old phone books.

When I was a child, I remember visiting a comic shop in downtown Auburn. It was upstairs, either directly above Toomer’s Corner or in one of the adjacent buildings. This would have been in the 1980s.

I am definitely not talking about the Comic Strip when it was located on College. This would have been a decade or more before that. I also don’t think it would have been Collector’s Corner, since the first place I remember that being was by Glenn Dean Pharmacy (before it moved to a second location near the same shopping center, where it ultimately closed).

If any old farts can remember the name, I’d be most appreciative.

Can someone maybe give me a run down? i have a lot of questions and i'm also curious if i would be able to major in nursing and also be in the aumb (marching band) is this possible?

For those like me who like to have music on the background while studying

I often need background music to help me increase my concentration and productivity while studying. I created these playlists which I update regularly. They help me stay calm, focused and productive. Perfect for my study sessions or for relaxing after work.

Ambient, chill & downtempo trip (a tasty mix of ambient, downtempo, IDM, trip-hop, electronica, jazz house music and more. Chill, hypnotic, trippy and atmospheric grooves for focus, relaxation, and deep listening) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7G5552u4lNldCrprVHzkMm?si=6fiOfJmeRi2CrnhNwHzyzg

Mental food (A bit of the same atmosphere as the previous one) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/52bUff1hDnsN5UJpXyGLSC?si=37JEertEQkG9aba7xETmow

Something else (atmospheric, poetic, calm, soothing, cinematic and ambient soundscapes with a touch of mystery. Relaxing instrumental music for focus, relaxation, introspection, reading, writing, studying, meditation and mindfulness practice.) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0QMZwwUa1IMnMTV4Og0xAv?si=XEQqfz8OQaSDS_JvzkUYUw

Pure ambient (calming ambient music designed to enhance focus, relaxation, study, meditation, sleep, and mindfulness) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6NXv1wqHlUUV8qChdDNTuR?si=RE0d-iHuQd-5hGtboUq4OQ

Chill lofi day (mix of smooth lofi hip-hop beats, chillhop, jazzhop and soothing vibes. Chill background music for studying, working, reading or just unwinding) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/10MPEQeDufIYny6OML98QT?si=NZ_vPqdYQc-idTOg-kt5Vg

French producers (dedicated to new independent French producers. Several electronic genres covered but mostly chill) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5do4OeQjXogwVejCEcsvSj?si=xKFR3VF6Sfez1SmefAr8-A

Jrapzz (the latest in modern jazz with a mix of Nu-Jazz, Jazzhop, Acid Jazz, Jazz UK, Ambient Jazz, Jazztronica, Jazz House, Nu-Soul, Hip-Hop Jazz, rather chill) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3gBwgPNiEUHacWPS4BD2w8?si=pZ1LxONJSYqQRR483Q55tA

Cool stuff (chill indie pop & rock fresh finds, from emerging independent artists and few recognized talents) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2mgbWuWrYSVPrPNHbQMQec?si=FVMlFI5gTiWPkaJUWPUJtA

Enjoy!

Last minute housing

There’s a chance I’ll be moving to Auburn for a job for the university. But it’s very last minute. I won’t find out till the end of the first week of January. I know school starts, I believe the 14th. Does anyone know of any Facebook groups or other people who might be sub leasing to a male, age is 25. I won’t have an answer till the end of the first week of January unfortunately :/

To the people shooting off fireworks on the night of Christmas right at the city limits

As a father with a child that needs to sleep, and pets with stress issues, its not cool that you assholes think its acceptable to be shooting off fireworks this late at night. I hope karma returns the favor so I dont have to. I know they probably wont see this, but if they do, i truly hope you have just as miserable of a Christmas as you are creating for me

Edit: Apparently, there are people across Opelika and Auburn doing this. Why? Is it to ruin the holidays for other people, or have they not looked at a calendar?

Edit 2: it appears it may be related to Hispanic holiday festivities. So people are enjoying their holiday at the expense of those around them. They werent doing it maliciously, it seems. Still super annoying tho.

It seems that this post has been found by people with entirely incorrect assumptions, but with no desire to point out where im wrong.

Alot of people agreed with this post last night and now its being brigaded. Joy lol
