I’ve had a few books that I’ve reread as the years have passed and have come to new understandings of the book, or saw new themes, etc.

If you enjoyed reading it, a reread might be worth a shot with a new perspective and experiences!

That's a very good point.

Although I read TBK for all the wrong reasons. I was given it by someone I trusted who turned out to be abusive. I read it to try and impress him.

That’s a more than fair enough reason to leave it be. It sucks that a great work can have such a negative memory associated to it :( Sorry that you experienced that, and I hope that you’re in a better spot now!

I really appreciate that. Thanks so much. It was actually my psychiatrist. He groomed me and we pretty much had a relationship for three years. Only managed to speak out about it at the beginning of last year. That man wrecked my life. Still picking up the pieces.
