Hot tub install

I just did this and am now being told about permits. Anyone else install without a permit? You contact the city later? What happened?

If you look through the code there is very little you can technically do without a permit. As far as you or anyone else knows that hot tub has been there...

A permit for the electrical or owning a hot tub?

Arvada says for installation....so mostly the electrical. Which I had done by a master electrician.

I never permitted either.

You need a permit to install 220v, and a separate permit for a pad over 200sq feet

No permit here for many reasons. 100% self-installed with just a little guidance from a master electrician buddy of mine.

Do you have any concerns about Arvada ever giving you a hard time?

Why would I?

You putting the tub in the front yard? How are they going to find out? And how would they ever know it wasn’t there already when you moved in regardless?

I have an easement. If the city ever needed to check their power box down there they might see it. I'm a worst case scenario guy and don't want to get screwed.
