I love this. The betta section at my work makes me cringe anytime I walk that way. I wish all stores kept them like this.

Why don’t you say something?
24
u/AnonBitch74 Nov 25 '24
Because it's corporate that decides that and they only care about profit unfortunately.

u/Potential-Amor42 Nov 25 '24
they don’t care like at all. not even enough to train the workers about basic animal care

Do you need help?

If you look at their profile it will answer your question right away (you've been warned).

I don’t know what the deal is? What is the profile? I’m sorry I can change it. This is a shared account with my sister. I don’t know if she will let me change it. I don’t even know what it is nor really care. Unless if it’s urgent? I don’t know this is kind of a shared account. Though I use it now mostly. She has weird communities I deleted. I haven’t really thought of changing it. If needed I can change it I never think of doing it. I had no idea I can change it? If you want.

wdym? What is my profile? This was my sisters account and I don’t go on Reddit often. She doesn’t use Reddit anymore. What is the profile. Is it concerning? Should I know about what this is? 💀

My LFS has this but not many tanks, I feel like they are sacrificing profit with tank space just to show how a betta should really be kept and I love it

Honestly they would still sell them quickly if not quicker because the fish would look so much healthier and more colorful. It's a win for the fish, the shop and the customer.

I love seeing this. We're never going to convince people that Bettas can't live in a flower vase when they're buying them in plastic cups of a half cup of water.

Can we shame Petsmart into doing this please?

I tried so hard when I worked there. I was constantly getting in trouble for going “against policy” when I would do things to try and make life just a little better for the animals

Ok this is the kind of stores we really need. I support that store. Though petsmart is my only option in this town I live in. I want a non big cooperation. Smaller business actually gives better quality and actually has knowledge on fish. Though the petsmart in my town I know some and most employees (some are my friends). They are knowledgeable on fish and stuff. also my friends are specialler than me. They got weird quirky fish. blind cave tetras? Buck tooth tetras, cuttlefish, and a bunch of goofy little critters.

I absolutely love that they aren’t in a plastic box. I’d be much more inclined to betta if it looked like it had a happy home at the store

My favorite store has betta fish scattered throughout the store in 20 gallon tanks that are only shared with either plants for sale or tank mates that the beta fish ignores and ignore it. They don’t have the room to set up a wall like this for beta fish only They also get them from a local breeder who treats them the same according to the store employees.

Are those bubblers for the bettas? Wondering if that is necessary for a beta? If I should get one or not?

This is a repost so I'd ask on the original post! Just thought everyone needed a pallet cleanser from all the sad bettas we see on these subs

My local fish store does something similar with 5 gallon tanks. Love pet stores that see bettas as more than “just a fish” 🤍

One of my local stores has a 125 gallon Betta community tank. No plants. Bare bottom. Males and females together. Torn fins and bland colors is all you see.

This should be the norm, well done.
