Well that sounds fucking pointless. What's half a mil gonna do and why do they think the person in charge of said farm is going to use it for welfare? You'd be better researching common avian diseases that are non threatening to humans, find a means of purchasing mass supply and with the remainder, pay some extremist militant activist to go round shutting down the factory farms.

Why not just buy a factory farm and shut it down? That way they still don’t die in the end when they don’t want to. These sorts of effective altruism just coddle the feelings of those contributing to the mass murder of nonhuman animals. It almost doesn’t matter if we make their lives easier before murdering them. we are still killing them in the end when they don’t want to die.
