My life has been saved by the radio edit. My little girl was about to try to drown me in our pond out back.

That's a strange name. A.Wake, that sounds like a character's name.

When Katy Perry's song "Wide Awake" came out, I partially got the lyrics "I'm Wide Awake!" stuck in my head as "I'm Alan Wake!"
Not nearly as epic an ear-worm as the Alan Wake edit of Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life," but that is the ear-worm that I got.

u/morsealworth0 Jan 24 '24
It took a bit of time to evaluate the lyrics properly, but by now I'm fairly convinced that Bring Me to Life is a song about either necromancy or demon summoning.

I probably shouldn't tell you about the full rip with all the guitar solos to bridge the lyrics depending on how long you spend in each section of the chapter
2
u/Kindly_Formal_2604 Jan 24 '24
I want that.. I lingered as long as I could my fist play through. There’s so much stuff cut from the final version. Nothing huge but a lot.

u/YappyMcYapperson Jan 24 '24
https://youtu.be/n9BSgOCuolE?si=m2PyJjT4QpmerBWI The amount of guitar solos they managed to fit into this is nothing short of amazing

I will never get tired of that song, for the same reason that I'll never get tired of the intro to Peacemaker. Because self-aware camp is the height of pure art: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mrr3UNALww

u/aGMa77 Jan 23 '24
That intro is one of the most well done ever. Also I listened to herald of darkness everyday for like 2 weeks.
4
u/MS-Dostoyevsky Jan 23 '24
When I first saw Herald of Darkness I actually wondered if Peacemaker was one of their inspirations for the choreography. Very similar vibes
3
u/CutCrane Jan 23 '24
So do you really really wanna taste it?
3
u/PhiloticKnight Jan 23 '24
If by "it" you mean James Gunn's ridiculously hot wife who he inexplicably cast alongside John Cena (aka the most masculine man on earth) as love interests? Yes, yes I do. =o

My ride to my daughter's school is about 15 minutes. My drive back is just the herald of darkness!

Jan 23 '24
No but they're right, why listen to just Herald of Darkness on repeat when we could listen to Old Gods of Asgard on repeat?

Before I got to that part I had someone on hunt showdown tell me their friend showed them that scene from the game ( he told me there is a singing scene ) and that he thought it was the most boring and lame scene ever. Rofl it's up there for for my fav game scenes ever.

u/ManufacturerDry108 Jan 23 '24
Well they probably play subway surfers while watching family guy if they think the HoD scene is boring.
What YouTube shorts does to your mind
4
u/VVurmHat Jan 23 '24
I don’t get that, like some people just get the game cause they can pew pew? That scene is up there in best game sequenxes
1
u/saikrishnav Jan 24 '24
I never understand who play games like Alan Wake and just play it for combat. I mean, yeah, but dude, have you looked at the story, ambience, the art....the fucking art...
2
u/VVurmHat Jan 24 '24
Yeah I just don’t get it but I’ve always been fascinated by gaming for art / story luckily most games these days have solid gameplay as well. Tho I’m surprised someone would have gotten to the musical as there is a lot you would have to do before related to the story and sleuthing around.

Anger's Remorse is that one for me, but luckily it's only about half the duration of HOD.

u/Emictavice Jan 23 '24
The full version with all the guitar intermissions is something like 25 minutes

u/pimpinspice Jan 23 '24
My husband already wonders how I’m not sick of the song yet. I have to listen to it when he’s gone because he’s tired of hearing it.

The fact that poets of the fall created an entirely new band just for the remedy universe, AND wrote a new repertoire where each song feels unique, is nothing short of incredible
