AngryJoe’s reaction to Herald of Darkness and AW2 at the game awards. General

Didn’t really know what to put this post under, but holy smokes I thought the sub should hear about Angry Joe and his reaction to Alan Wake 2 winning its awards and the performance of HOD.

I was going after every game awards reaction to just see multiple people react to HOD and when I got to Joe I expected something different then what I saw. First off he was watching it with 2 or 3 others which was not unusual because most of the other streamers/YouTubers did the same thing. The problem starts with his overall demeanor as it really seems he would have rather been doing anything else, and according to his comments section on like the 3 and a half hours every-time Alan Wake 2 or even Baldurs Gate 3 won an award all 3 of them called it pandering?

I start scrolling to find the best moment of the show and find it and wow did I find 3 grown men being the most absolute “douches” I thought I had ever seen. Literally during the whole segment of the live performance they were complaining how they “didn’t understand or how cringy” it was. And don’t get me started on what they said about Sam Lake.

They were absolutely ripping to shreds and the comment section noticed it too, calling all 3 of them out on it. I don’t like to be a negative person but damn read the room, they seem to be the only ones to have had a problem with it. I also did my research and multiple fans of the Angry Joe show have said he started Alan Wake 2 but never finished the prologue.

Edit: Thank you guys for all the comments, but I want to get some things straight. I simply don’t really care what Joe says and was stating that this guy seemed to be the only one airing his grievances with Alan Wake 2. That’s all he’d do when a category AW2 was nominated for came up. The one thing that bothered me and one of the reasons I created the post was his hypocritical stance from years ago I forgot to put originally that he said “gaming is creatively dead”but when a creatively amazing game comes out he plays for like 1 hour and quits because too me he was simply bad at the game.

He reminds me of CinemaSins… a bad novelty that runs out of humor almost immediately

Their podcast is a lot more interesting.

It is also worth pointing out that as annoying and obnoxious as CinemaSins can be, they have said on multiple occasions that their videos aren't supposed to be taken seriously, and that they aren't actual critiques, they're just dumb jokes they wanted to make about a film.

That's kind of an issue when they mix in actual critiques into their video, which muddies the water of what is jokes and what is actual critique. It also hurts that the jokes aren't funny and the critiques usually are bad.
