A game you like, that the Nerd reviewed. Discussion

What’s a video game AVGN reviewed that you like ? For me it’s PapperBoy on NES.

Note: Not including ones where he reviewed a game he liked(Mario 3, Castlevania, Earthbound) He has to dislike the game.

I really like TMNT, Silver Surfer and Friday the 13th.

He admitted in a later video that he liked TMNT when he was young, and just picked on the faults for the video when he realized them later.

TMNT was... like, there weren't open world games back then. But this was a game where you could go in the sewers, on the streets, use all four turtles, fight all the bad guys, have April and Splinter cheer you on, go into the fucking Technodrome...

It has its faults, but so does the Ford Cortina. When you place it next to its peers, it's a legend.

I really liked Glover, but I had the PS1 version which was apparently much easier. It was still hard as fuck from what I remembered though lol

RE: Survivor. It's a piece of shit, but a fun one.

Despite the bugs and general unfinishedness, I still think Sonic 06 is a fun game at its core. Theres a reason project 06 a fan made project that set out to essentially fix up and finish the game is so beloved by fans.

If this comment was in Sonic 06, it’d have 3 loading screens between the text. But you’re not wrong. It really does have its moments. Forgotten Valley doesn’t feel bad as a level and is only marred by how bad the game mechanics themselves are and how little they were able to polish it. On top of the fan projects, Sega themselves acknowledged the game’s existence for the first time in forever with Shadow Generations. A proper remake down the road isn’t out of the question like it used to seem.

Primal Rage and Jurassic Park on Sega Genesis are the only ones I personally like that have enjoyed the fuming attention of the Nerd. I love them, but I do get his points.

Honorable Mention to AVGN Adventures, since the Nerd both enjoyed and hated it. I love this game, and the sequels are pretty baller too!

Honestly, I don’t hate Goonies II. I beat it when I was a kid thanks to Nintendo Power!

I think I've had a complete lack of overlap with the Nerd in terms of childhood gaming. I'm a little younger and had a Genesis and never a NES or SNES. He's never reviewed any of the Genesis games I played to my knowledge. It would be funny to see him review the Lion King.

I remember liking the Jaws NES game when I was a kid. Repetitive sure but definitely not as bad as other games

You might be the only person I’ve ever met that actually likes the game

Idk if it counts but virtua fighter on the 32X. I always found it to be quite faithful to the arcade version. The issues brought up in the brief review done in the 32x episode mainly hold true on all the ports of virtua fighter 1, whether it be the arcade original or the weird pc port.
