Is this not simply an old toilet...?

u/Serenity-V 13d ago

I thought so too, but here you go: Herbeau toilet of tackiness.

u/Dockhead 13d ago

Before the advent of fancy Japanese toilets this must have been the height of pooping luxury

21

u/Carnonated_wood 13d ago

No toilet paper in sight, classy

u/real-nia 13d ago

You pull the chain and it rings a bell to summon a butler who wipes your ass for you. Obviously.

u/twos_continent 12d ago

Literally a Privy Councillor

5

u/Dry_System9339 12d ago

If you are actually the King you have a "Groom of the High Stool" to wipe your Royal ass.

living the dream

3

u/lysergic_818 12d ago

No no. You ring the bell and your butler's butler comes to do the wiping.

3

u/real-nia 12d ago

The butt butler.

Didn't Tywin die on this?

3

u/gamespite 12d ago

Yeah, my first reaction was to look for arrow holes in the back board.

u/DontEverMoveHere 13d ago

With a reading light. Classy.

u/Rhodin265 12d ago

IDK if an open flame’s a good idea, though.

Doesn't that knob make a mark on the back part? Or maybe the back leans against that ridge on the back? Seems like either way it'be hard to sit up straight without risking that lid. Maybe I'm overthinking it. I am overthinking it, aren't I?🤔

9

u/OlDustyTrails 13d ago

I am guessing that the lid doesn't hinge at the back of it, and you just take the cover off for when it is time to drop the lord's wisdom and place it back over to cover it up when you are done.

5

u/Mmmmudd 13d ago

Maybe! But then it seems like the handle would be in the center. That lil curb on the back seems like it would make it doubly uncomfortable. Yup.. still overthinking it. 🤔

u/BeyondAddiction 13d ago

drop the lord's wisdom

😂

4

u/real-nia 13d ago

I agree, I think the lid must come off completely and you have to set it aside. I don't see why the knob is necessary in the first place since it prevents you from sitting on the closed toilet. I also think the stiff vertical high back can't be comfortable for prolonged use lol.

4

u/Mmmmudd 13d ago

My first thought was that the knob might be for "her royal entertainment." In the early days of indoor plumming, the toilet water tanks were installed way up high( for better flow?). Maybe the tall back was meant to hide a water tank?

5

u/real-nia 13d ago

Lol yeah at first I thought this was a dildo-on-the-chair joke.

But this isn't actually a historical or historically accurate creation, it's a modern design for rich people with no taste lol (there's a link in another comment). I think maybe the high, straight back is meant to torture the rich and stupid? Or at least make them increasingly uncomfortable while they poop.

3

u/Fornellos 13d ago

How is this awful taste?? And how is it great execution??? Ive got a way more ugly version in my bathroom that works a hell of a lot better. So who exactly has got the real ATbGE

1

u/Syllogism19 12d ago

Perfect for a compost collecting toilet. Humanure

1

u/Responsible-Wallaby5 12d ago

All it needs now is the bidet with the drying function.

1

u/chupathingy99 10d ago

Bring forth, and ignite the thurible...

For I am about to release, into this receptacle, a wicked shit.

0

u/Serenity-V 13d ago

Okay, it's a mock-antique toilet but it's actually a really tasteless modern fixture from a company called Herbeau. Awful taste, but is it great execution, or is it just expensive?

3

u/real-nia 13d ago

Yeah I actually think the execution is not great. The design is clunky, ugly, and clashes severely. The colors, materials, and style just don't mesh. It's needlessly expensive and isn't even that great looking. It doesn't even look like a throne, just a stiff wooden high back chair.

What’s the joystick near the dong/vag area for?
